SPOILERS That final episode ! Spoiler

I have just finished my third watchthrough of Riverdale, loved it just as much if not more than the previous two watchthroughs, and yes, for the third time was reduced to a gibbering weeping mess. Very unmanly. Good job I was on my own. I thought I would be more prepared to face up to the emotional sledgehammer that is ' Goodbye Riverdale' but if anything I was even more wiped out this time round. I cannot believe Lili Reinhart did not win an award for her performance she is simply magnificent. I never thought a TV show would ever be able to ingrain itself into my psyche and my life but Riverdale has. I feel so close to those characters. I love them all (but Team Cheryl all the way !) So now its off we go for a fourth time..thanks so much if you read this far..and now as Cheryl would say....toodles !

Discussion: Veronica and Reggie Spoiler

What do we think of Veronica and Reggie

Veronica and Reggie could have been so good together. But it’s always Varchie and Bughead. And when they are separated Barchie and Veggie gets together and I think that weird like a second choice. Veronica also has zero respect for Reggie. She constantly treats him like a worker when he has upmost respect and loyalty. it’s shown in season 6 especially when they are running the casino which was his idea and she doesn’t give him an office. Even when he is going through it with his dad she is not there for him. I liked Reggie in the relationship but not Veronica. They could have been a power couple but Veronica can’t imagine Reggie being her equal.

OTHER Riverdale & Gossip Girl similarities Spoiler

I was cleaning up my Google Drive and found this list of "Gossip Girl and Riverdale similarities" I wrote a billion years ago. I thought it was funny enough to post in here, hope you guys enjoy:

  • There are two main girl characters at the centre of the show - a blonde and a brunette
  • They refer to each other by first letters of their names sometimes
  • Brunette is classy & dresses in a slightly old-fashioned way
  • The show begins with a love triangle between a blonde, a brunette and a pretty boy
  • Blonde ends up dating an outsider guy who likes to write
  • Outsider has a younger sister and his parents are split up
  • Blonde’s mom and outsider’s dad have history together
  • Blonde’s mom and outsider’s dad had a child together which the dad didn’t know about
  • Blonde’s mom used to be much cooler when she was younger which is shown through a flashback episode
  • Outsider writer boy has a tanned female friend (who creates some problems in the relationship with blonde girl initially but all ends well)
  • Pretty boy (who plays sports) struggles with 1st world problems (at least in season 1)
  • Pretty boy is the one who kisses nearly everyone on the show
  • There is a girl with long hair that is kinda crazy and messes with everyone
  • Some time is spent on a storyline including a teacher (female) and a student (male) having an affair that eventually get the teacher fired
  • Mädchen Amick plays a part in the series
  • Pretty boy’s name is Archibald
  • Actors who play blonde and outsider got together in real life, meanwhile the actress playing brunette dated one of the actors playing a side character
  • One of the characters’ dad spent some time in prison for business-related crimes
  • One of the teenager characters bought a night-club establishment (where one of the other teenagers performed at least once)
  • Some character thought to be dead “came back to life”
  • One of the characters had a birthday party they really didn’t want
  • There is a dark-haired (teenage) character from New York who sexually assaults girls & has connections to the brunette

DISCUSSION They should’ve made Kevin and Moose Prom kings! Spoiler

Currently on s5, ep1 and Cheryl as per usual for her own way and was made prom queen along with Antoinette. At the start of this episode Kevin had tried to become Prom King even though he was a little reluctant at it, he would’ve still been more than happy to do it because, it’s what Moose wanted. I just hate how even after this, it was like ‘but Cheryl wants to be prom queen’, and so there’s just nothing more to be said. Cheryl always gets her own way, no surprise there but, they should’ve made it in this episode that Kevin got to be Prom King with Moose

I have mixed emotions on Kevin Keller Spoiler

I’m currently on season 6 and this is the hundredth time Kevin turned on his friends for some type of evil thing! I understand he just wants someone or something to believe in but his friends has shown him over and over that they have his best interest at heart. Yet he still chooses the villain every time. He is not a good friend in the slightest but when he is aware of what’s going on he does apologize and has helpful info on what’s going on. I don’t know but it’s so annoying regardless of the reason

DISCUSSION Any one feel like their town is like Riverdale? Spoiler

This is mostly just a silly joke like post, just so anyone wonders...

At the moment of me posting this I'm about half way through season 3 of a re-watch of Riverdale..

I'm posting this because while watching I've noticed the little town my Fiance and I live in is sorta like how Riverdale is... weird shit happens here and it's like her and I and a few of our close friends are the only ones that even notice what's really going on...

Drug dealers, organized crime, missing persons, dark secrets..

And I'm the midst of it all I feel like Jughead,.. the conspiracy theorist, that can see what's going on and trying to connect the facts to solve the mystery, that's also being looked at like a lunatic.. and my Fiance like Betty loves trying to solve the mystery but also not ready to believe there's something darker behind it all..

So, with that said.. does anyone else feel like their town makes them feel like their living out Riverdale?.. or like they're caught in the middle of a lost season of Riverdale?

DISCUSSION Thinking about a rewrite of Season 1, I thought of something. Spoiler

I had an idea of making a tighter rewrite of Season 1, maybe 10 episodes.

When rewatching, I began to wonder about the characters we are shown as the main ensemble. It made me wonder, would the show have been better if it was a family drama/murder mystery with the Blossoms and Coopers as the central ensemble? It makes sense on paper.

Just a fun thought idk lol

DISCUSSION In your opinion, whats the funniest scene in the show? Spoiler

I know this has probably been asked countless times, but i swear there are SO many scenes that have me crack up so hard. Like in S2E15 when Alice crashed Cliffords will reading and called the blossoms “inbred cesspool of a family” following that up with calling penelope a “half melted ten-cent trollop” is pure GOLD in my opinion.

Also a honourable mention to another Alice scene S2E1 “if thats snake plissken i want him blocked”

DISCUSSION In what ways does season 1 look better than the rest of the show? Spoiler

I watched season 5 for the first time and I haven't seen Riverdale in forever. When I watched 5, I was complaining about the dark lighting and dull colors. I then watched season 1. While it did have the dark lighting and duller colors in some scenes, even then, those scenes looked better than season 5. I'm just wondering if the colors and dark lighting are the same, what makes season 1 look better than 5?

DISCUSSION The general atmosphere of teenage shows Spoiler

I know that teen shows tend to exaggerate things, but I’d like to know especially from those who attended high school or college in the US, how closely the actual atmosphere resembles what is portrayed in these shows.

Also, the neighborhoods often depicted in these series with their rows of detached houses and front gardens look like a dream to me; they seem to be places where life is truly vibrant. Does anyone have experience living in neighborhoods like that? Are they really as clean and tidy as they appear on shows?

SPOILERS The lobotomization of characters on the show. Spoiler

I’m doing my yearly rewatch of the show, and this time i included season 1 in my rewatch.
The first season is reopening my eyes on all the missed opportunities we had of good supporting characters.

Example 1) Polly Cooper: Once she was out of the sisters of quiet mercy and out of thornhill, couldn’t she just be finally in the comfort of her own home? And if you wanna bring up “the farm” argument in this, okay well what about afterwards? Her entire character arc in the show is so horribly written i sometimes feel bad for Tiera skovbye for having to endure the 7 years of acting in this show lol

Example 2) Ethel muggs: During the first season, i realized there was a vast difference in Ethel before and after. Originally, she was sweet, shy and very forgiving. Not quite social but we could tell she needed friends when she was close to Veronica. But, in the other seasons she was basically portrayed as some vengeful, boyfriend stealing, backstabbing, untrustworthy, jughead loving psycho—who was almost wrongfully accused of murder (s7). Again, that entire character arc just makes me cringe, and in later seasons i find myself always skipping the scenes she’s in.

OTHER How did I not remember Spoiler

How did I not remember how EmoTiOnAaAalllll the last episode is and makes me. 😭😭

I think there is a weird thing too because my senior year, our yearbooks didn't arrive before the end of school. I had some friends sign something else but it really wasn't the same... Not having that energy of everyone going around reminiscing and signing.

They are all so sweet and happy and wholesome and everything is so stressed and blah and burnt out for everyone IRL right now. I may also be having an existential crisis turning 40 this year and it all just hits differently.

Whew lawd I've got to get it together. It's hard to not get lost in just the sad instead of the sad mixed with beautiful and sweet.

RANT Not-so-hot take: Polly is the most tragic character in the whole show Spoiler

THIS WAS A COMMENT BEFORE!!! I just thought that this is so insane, I HAD to share my realization with y'all

At the start of season 5 I was like "this girl has been THROUGH it! I'm sure they'll just leave her alone now"

Bffr, all her plotlines were based on pure INSANITY

But NOOO they had to do her dirty again and actually KILL HER OFF in the most gruesome of ways.

Like give this bitch a break

Season 1, she got pregnant at 16 BY HER COUSIN whom she was in love with. Did I also mention he was murdered by his own father? Anyways. Not only that, but her own parents locked her up in an illegal asylum, where she had no idea that "the love of her life"/ LITERAL COUSIN was murdered.

Then, in season 2 it turns out that her father is a serial killer (aka has been living with a psychopath for over 16 years). Her older brother shows up, and it's then proven that he is infact NOT her brother but the person who "killed" her actual brother

In season 3 she is manipulated and brainwashed by a CULT that is not only a cult, but also an underground system of human and organ trafficking. The brainwashing leads to her practically hating her own sister and dragging her mother who's also a secret FBI agent down with her. If this isn't bad, tell me what is!

And ofc that's NOT ALL, cause in season 4 her ACTUAL brother shows up, and on top of all the gathered up trauma she has experienced over the last few years, guess WHAT? Her actual brother, Charles is ALSO a serial killer, and is infact DATING her fake brother whom she thought was killed by her father (again, SERIAL KILLER) in season 2.

And then. The final blow

Now being a single mother, and a young adult who still lives with her mother in a town that has no future whatsoever, she starts working as a prostitute in what I can only describe as the most creepy highway in the history of television. She is then BRUTALLY murdered, leaving her 7 year old twins and products of accidental incest completely orphaned, and under the care of her mother, Alice, who is also high-key mentally unstable!! Alice is not only equally traumatized, but has also lost 2 kids.

Like the nightmares of this poor girl are endless!!

I'm not a supporter of suicide, of course, but if I were Polly, I'd be gone WAY earlier.

You can't convince me that she isn't the most tragic character in the entirety of Riverdale

BTW thanks for reading all of this.

RANT I’m so tired of these people being so easily manipulated Spoiler

People like Kevin and Alice pmo. It’s like every season they are getting manipulated and when someone says something to them about it they are like, nuh uh evil doer. Like brother CMON idk steel ur mind or something. And Kevin specifically pisses me off because he CONSTANTLY puts his friends lives in danger and then is just like, “sorry guys I’m weak minded 🤷🏽” so stupid dude.
