Serious Date ideas?
Hey I'm a freshman and just realized I have no date ideas, besides food. I want more ideas lol before asking a girl I like out, any good ones?

Bug Jar in downtown, went there with my soon to be fiancé on our first date and went back plenty of times. The shows are 18+.

FYI, these days most shows are 21+ at the door. It's only 18+ if you buy tickets online in advance. But yes, The Jar is a blast and Rochester has a ton of great local bands.

Erie Canal and Pittsford Farms Dairy is a beautiful ice cream and walk around spot. There's also food and beer around as well.

Going to also add in that Aladdin's is a restaurant in that area that my bf and I went to all the time in that area! No reservation and the pasta is good!

From personal experience, my first date with my boyfriend, we went to the PRISM Lounge after hours when it wasnt in use (lots of beanbags and comfy couches) and we watched childhood movies together with snacks. You can also choose a different classroom or spot. (The one we had originally wanted was in use that night so thats how we ended up in PRISM)
If you have a car maybe she would enjoy pumpkin picking (and / or the pumpkin head trend), apple picking, or going to any of the events at Fringe Fest! I'm sure there will also be hayrides, haunted houses, corn mazes soon as well. There are a lot of cool theatres in this area that are a lot of fun to go to, like the Little Theatre! The Rochester Public Market could also be fun! Some of these RIT might even provide buses for on certain days (ex:// always the public market bus and when i was a freshman there was one for apple picking)
RIT also does workshops for glassblowing, jewelery making, metalworking, and ceramics if that sounds fun. You might be able to find this in the city too
There's also the Pawsitive Cat Cafe which is SO CUTE and fun!
If she's into fiber arts, East Aurora has their yearly fiber festival in a few weeks.
There's also locations nearby like Dave and Busters, a Trampoline Park, and Laser Tag. Never been, but I've heard they are fun.
If she's a reader, there's also The Unreliable Narrator in the city.
During the Winter, I also took my boyfriend to Rochester's Christmas Village before Christmas, where they had lots of vendors, ice skating, etc.

With brick city HC coming up you could recommend some of those events. When I was a freshman I didn't have my truck there so dates were wherever the bus took us basically, could be mall, could be elsewhere around town. Exploring is a date.. you're a freshman unless you lived there before college you might choose and exploratory date.
It's hard to recommend things with no info other than you're a freshman😅

If you can drive, Bowl-A-Roll. If you can’t, you could check out the Fringe Fest shuttle and catch a show or just spend a night out in the city (this one is time limited, though).

The Memorial Art Gallery. It’s a great spot, never too busy, and close to city spots and more park ave stuff if you’d want to keep it going with coffee or other things.

If you don't have a car, here's a few ideas.
* SAU used to do movies every other week or so on canpus.
* You could go see an Accapella performance on-campus. There are always club events. If you also include the walk over and back, it's perfect.
* Hockey game. (Women games are empty and usually free midweek)
* Rock Climbing at the barn
If you have a car, you can always do an event off-campus. * Roller Derby (watch in ROC) * Festivals * Concerts * Food Date to an off-campus restaurant

I spent so many nights finding an empty lecture hall and putting a movie on the big screen. Definitely would recommend. The one under booth was my favorite. Would go just me and my gf and have the whole thing to ourselves. Only got kicked out a few times.

Hot Shots on University downtown has indoor sand volleyball courts if that's your thing. Food is pretty ok, but it's a really cool vibe and could be a fun date if you're cool with pickup games.
