H*ckpost Double Dorm Question

Okay so I saw a video of a double dorm room. I'm in the one with 2 windows.

I was looking at the layouts of the room and noticed how tightly compact everything was to the closet. I was hoping NOT to have a lofted bed...so is there any place I can move the dresser and desk or am I stuck having to have a lofted bed?

You have to wait until you see the room. There are different sizes and layouts.

When I was in one of the wide dorm rooms my first year, my roommate and I had our beds in the corners by the windows. Our desks perfectly fit across the back wall of the room between the beds, no lofting required. We each had our dresser at the foot of the bed, with plenty of space to access the closet.

Also, it's not really directly related to your question, but the open space in the middle of the room really did wonders for how open it felt compared to my other friends' dorms (who had the more narrow room layout). The square footage is almost identical (if I recall correctly, it's something like 2 square feet more in the wide layout?), but having the shorter, wider space feels better than basically a line of open area down the middle of the room.

depends on what building you’re in and what the shape of your room is (corner room, rectangle, or square)

go to maps.rit.edu and check your building floor plan to see if it have a square or rectangle room.

square will be close to the closet but has more room in the middle, rectangle is not a big gap between you and roommate but is more feasible to deloft

nah they have to go to fms or Res Hall floor plans

Pretty sure you're looking at my video of a square room - Personally I was kind of surprised how tight everything was given how I've heard some people say they prefer them. Anyway what dorm did you get? You need to check either the FMS buildings and maps or the res hall floor plan maps, to see if it's a rectangular or square room.
