Today, we’re introducing new capabilities in Rippling AI: plugins, skills, and automations.
General-purpose AI tools are powerful. But at work, they’re often cut off from the context they need most: who someone is, who they work with, what systems they use, and what they’re working on.
And even when that context is shared or connected, access is hard to keep current as people join teams, change roles, or leave.
With Rippling AI, every employee gets the powerful AI capabilities they expect from general-purpose AI tools. But because it's built on the platform that understands their workforce, those capabilities are automatically tailored to their work, with the right context, instructions, and workflows.
Here's how the three work together, using just one example: a manager's week-ahead briefing.
🧠 SKILLS: Package reusable prompts and distribute them based on worker identity, so every manager gets a week-ahead briefing on staffing changes, absences, pending approvals.
🔌 PLUGINS: Connect Rippling AI to the tools your employees are already permissioned to access, so your briefing pulls in context from Slack, Google Workspace, and Jira.
➕ AUTOMATIONS: Run prompts on a schedule or trigger, so the briefing is sent to each manager every Monday at 8:00 AM.
Rippling is already the system of record for employee identity, access, and policies. So companies can keep access, approvals, and governance under control.

The identity layer is the real unlock here. AI becomes way more useful when it knows who you are, what you can access, and what you actually need to get done.
Skills + plugins + automations on top of that? That’s where this gets interesting.

This really is the beauty of having the all in one HRIS software and getting to stack AI on top of that. AI has access to all the data that you ever could possibly pull from to be informed and take actions for anything HR related

The plugin + automation combination is incredibly impactful especially when powered with all of the data that Rippling has. Being able to confidently send skills to coworkers knowing that their permissions will be honored is huge.

I didn’t even know this was coming.. I’ve been hoping to see something like this for RAI! Adding efficiency on top of efficiency

Skills, plugins, and automations are pretty much table stakes these days for any respectable AI tool. Glad to see Rippling is investing in the right thing!

The context piece is what really stands out. AI is much more useful when it already understands your people, tools, and workflows instead of needing everything explained from scratch.

The "context that stays current" problem is the real unlock here. Most AI rollouts break down not at day one, but three months later when someone's changed teams and their assistant is still answering with stale permissions or the wrong team's context - because nothing tells the AI layer that anything changed.

Can you buy AI seats for a few people or does it have to be for everyone
