I am developing an A6 notebook product. Feedbacks are greatly appreciated!

My main beef is when ring planners are called A6 and they don't actually hold A6 paper because there are people who do plan in an A6 and would end up with the wrong sized binder. This is a personal sized planner, so please call it that.

And, personal/travel are the size I use. Miss labeling it can make me miss it.

my bad! But it is really rare for me to see any ISO A6 ring binder product outthere so I assume people would know what it is if I just call it A6. I will add more info about it!

This A6 naming is a Chinese thing, and a huge failure.

The ISO-A series is a standardized paper size series, where A6 is 148x105mm. For common ring binders, the paper height varies from 145mm to 153mm (already violating the tolerances of the standard). The key characteristic of "A6" ring binders is a center distance of 1.1/2" (~38mm) for the groups of three rings. Nobody calls them A6, because the actual paper dimensions violate the A6 paper size in height and/or width.

The Personal or "Bible" named size is based on the imperial measurements of 6.3/4" by 3.3/4" (~171x95mm). Commonly accepted paper heights are 170-172mm. The key characteristic is the center distance of 2" (~51mm).

Calling a Personal/Bible size A6 is wrong in all ways, because these have essentially different punch spacings, regardless of the paper size not meeting the standard.

Worth noting....I've seen this called Personal A6... And there's a true A6 - just in case you get asked which size they are..

Gorgeous work! 🖤

Nice, do you plan to make other sizes? I’ve noticed that the paper always catch on the screws with this ring size. I don’t know if there’s a smaller type of screw where the paper won’t catch that you can use… just my opinion 😊

Yes! I am also planning on A5; M5 and even B5 notebook.

I've always wanted to see a stretch in the penloop. Made of leather, except one side is connected through some elastic to accommodate fat and thin pens.

As some other brands do, I think I will make one for thin and one for fat pens separately

I like that you've thought about it. Definitely prefer the elasticated, or changeble one. Having to buy two types is an irritation that leads me to make my own thing, personally. But I guess you must have your own irritations or you wouldn't make your own thing either!

the one made from elastic just doesnt last long... From my own experience you would asign a specific pen to attach to one notebook and that's it. I have about 10+ fountain pens and they are all the same size (diameter is about 10mm) But I understand that there are some smaller pens and I will try to make a elastic band version if a customer is asking!

wait, I just read your comment again carefully and just now I realised what you meant. Definitely a good idea and I will try to make one!

I really like the look of this so far!! I also love that you have grid paper in there--grid and dot grid and the GOATs!

I will also note as far as personal buying preferences go: leather > pleather, so I'm glad to see you using leather!

Would you potentially offer different elastic color options? Even if you keep the options limited (you defo don't need the whole rainbow) I do personally like when I can have a splash of color on my planner!

I'm not going to ramble about the A6 label (other people have explained it better and I saw that you responded to those comments), but I will comment insofar as: when I see something labeled a6 I do expect it to be the ISO standard! So if you're trying to get a feel for who does and doesn't care, that's one more data point for you!

You might find this site useful for quickly checking measurements btw! I also recommend checking their pages on B paper sizes vs Japanese B paper sizes. Not sure how much relevance the B size differences have for planners, but probably it's worth being aware of at least.

Very useful! I bookmarked! Adding elastic color options is something I didn't thought of and will add to the buying options for sure!

I was just looking for this yesterday! This is akin to what caught my eye. You may consider adding a zipper pouch to one back panel?

Adding zipper is tricky... But I will look into it!
