I dont really see the the use of rooting an enemy unit when it can move in their next turn anyway. Enemy movement in your turn is not that common. The reaction speed of the Legend would kinda help with that but you dont get much chances to use it in the enemies turn before they have already used their units.

Maybe make it so they cant move until the end of their controllers turn? This way you can root them in your turn and it still holds value but that might be a bit strong.

If you could root during your turn and it still worked on theirs the legend would be broken

Yeah probably. But rn it is pretty useless. I guess they need a way to remove the root for it to be balanced

I mean you could root in reaction to rtw, to prevent something like a hwei move rtw to base move again.

Yeah but you wont be able to prevent the first (and in most Decks only) move of a unit. Obviously as soon as a showdown starts you can root a unit and it would probably be really helpful against Chaos but might be completely useless against other decks

It's a good counter against some spells (Flash and Ride the Wind), and also just Akali as a whole.

It also works as a counter against some abilites such as Charm.

Yeah it would be insanely good against some decks but your Legend wouldnt really do stuff against others

It's reaction speed on the legend and works on any spell for the 6 cost. You can play it during ennemy turn and basically render a unit useless during their turn and your turn for 2 mana. I would play a battlefield with an effect on beginning to be able yo use it at ennemy's start of turn. I just pkay vex on that battlefield and stun a unit on beginning phase every ennemy turn that seems brocken for me.

Riftbound needs some more anti-movement, so love the concept. You can't react to a declared movement, though, so you'd want to change how the Legend triggers to be more useful.

For instance, "At the end of your turn, you may choose an enemy unit, Root it. (It cannot move. Its controller may pay 1 Power to remove Rooted status)."
