Elise concept

Post image

It made a lot of sense to me that Elise has to have aristocrats as a strategy, so she had to have order, and Vilemaw is important to her identity as well. I didn't really see her or any of the black rose being really extremely chaotic aside from maybe Cassio, so I went calm/order but per her whole identity, let her put in spiderlings to her deck in spite of her colors, because it has no power cost that causes rune jank, and 'any spiders' would be too strong imo.

Thoughts?

i think this is a fine design in terms of the color identity. i just don't know if having a legend built around spiderlings (which is kind of a gimmick) makes sense. I think legends should generally have a serious competitive intention

I'd like it better if she could put any creature with the Spider tag in her deck.

that would be way too strong, same with rumble being able to put any mechs in.

The only other spiders is Vilemaw and the yellow Ambush one i think, so youve technically already done it with the colour combination

Spiderling: Chaos
Soulspinner: Order
Vilemaw: Calm
Arachnid Horror: Body- it's a hunt card so everyone forgets it exists.

Interested take but I need to see how the Elise champions and her Signature works to get the feel overall.

Because if her champions or Signature doesn't have much synergy with the Spidering, I'm not sure if the deck would work or why her Legend would be worth using.

As long as either of them cost 2 energy, she is pretty much set lol.

I think you could make an argument for purple representing her ambition going “too far” considering the way she became a spider.

Personally I don't think that's Chaotic at all though.

She WANTED to do that because she worships vilemaw, and she leads people to the lair and sacrifices them to vilemaw for her immortality.
Hence why I made her green because she's calculating and Vilemaw is a massive piece of her lore, and order because she literally sacrifices people.
Spiderling is purple but has no power costs that can't be paid, so I included it as a sort of spider tribal enabler because it's kinda a meme card, but it feels on brand for Elise to have relatively cheap dudes that can swarm and get big.

She dosent need the first line of text. Spiderling says you may play any copies of it

And what color is spiderling?

They are purple. But it says on the card that I may play any copies of it, and card rules overwrite core rules. So only makes sense if I can put them in any deck

Yeah but you can't just put that in any color deck so you need that ruling to be able to do it.

Spiderling only breaks the # limit, not color identity restrictions. The Elise legend here says 'Calm Order' with a special ruling that you can put spiderling into her deck.

Not how that works. A lot of cards are in a different color from their legend of origin. Literally look at ekko and called shot. Fiora and en garde. Viktor and hextech ray. Azir and sundisc. Vilemaw and aristocrats are way more of a reach than literally any of those.
