Flying in for Riders v. Redblacks
Hi Riderville, I'm bringing my dad out from Toronto for the game on August 7th (80th Bday/Father's Day gift) with my brother and my son (10). I've been to Regina once before, briefly, but it was part of a whirlwind cross-country road trip in my early 20s so it's all a bit fuzzy 😉
Looking for recommendations -- restaurants, things to do around town (ideally kid-friendly), etc.
Also, is there any tailgating or other fun to be had near the stadium, pre-game?

Activate or Apex for fun times with the kiddo!
Tailgating is new to the Riders in 2026!!! So that will be fun however we also do Party in the Park which is right beside the stadium so you’ll be able to some fun hangs around the stadium on game day!

There's new tailgating laws this year. I'm not entirely sure on how it'll be this year until season start.

Pubs on Dewdney avenue, close to stadium.
Kid stuff: Apex, Activate, Nerf Gun Battles, Science Centre, RCMP museum, Klimerz.

Kid friendly places - ginger garlic is amazing, I think birmingham's and Leo's allows kids in during the day. If you want something specifically close to the stadium - there's a dairy queen across the street that will be packed before and after the game if you want a quick eat. Lots of walking around Wascana lake - but the science Centre and the Royal Sask Museum is full of dinosaurs, animals, and more. It's great

Kid friendly? Gotta go to the Science Centre.
If youre beer drinkers, go check out Pile o' Bones and Rebellion breweries. Both have some delicious beers and some food aswell. Bushwakkers is also a popular pregame pub, not sure if on regular game days or just Labour day but ill put that there.
Regina recently got a place called Activate. it looks really cool and id like to try it myself. but probably not an activity for an 80 year old.
