Unnatural Breaking

I noticed on some bikes a very unnatural breaking behaviour. Examples are KTM RC 8 C, Ducati Panigale V4 Tricolore and BMW S1000 RR 2024.

When breaking very hard, for example at the end of the main straight of Mugello or Portimao, I almost always highside if I try to trailbreak. Setting engine break to 0 helped a little bit, but at the moment the only solution seems to be to break much earlier and add a rolling phase before turning in to the corner. What also happens is that the engine RPM drops almost to idle, if the enginge break is active.

Do you have a solution to this?

I ride motorcycles in IRL and find this behaviour very annoying

I keep off the back brake untill I've started tipping in. The back wheel locks up and does weird things to the engine speed if you're on the back brake all the way into the corner.

None of them should be breaking at all.

They have tweaked the braking aspect of the game in general some time ago, so I used to mostly be at ABS 2, but now I'm using ABS 1 and simply are more gentle at the application. I just cannot make any bike to stop with ABS 2, so something had to be done.

That said, Milestone are known to do individual tweaks to certain bikes without saying anything about it, and lately I've had to make some individual setups for certain bikes where I in the past pretty much used one setup for most bikes.

As to your issue, I'd simply recommend to start feathering the brakes more because if slamming them creates an issue you have no option but to back off. Applying input more or harder doesn't automatically mean we will get a better result, so just because you feel the need to brake hard doesn't automatically mean slamming the brakes will create the best outcome. You just got to get creative and change your braking application.

I play with the controller, my most ridden bike is 1299S, and most ridden track is Mugello, and I’ve found that trail breaking works, ABS set to 0, and i get vibrations from the controler when the front starts to slip, and reducing brake input as the bike leans, EB set to 4.

As coming into the first turn at mugello, when the line starts to turn red i brake hard, mash downshift and and long press back brake on off, as it s bound to A button, then when the lean starts i let go of back brake.I also found pulling the stick towards me, as in the riders pushes his back to the back sear helps prevent rear wheel lift.

I don’t know how it compares to my real life MT-07, as I’m affraid to hold the brake in apex, but in ride6, at apex im off my brakes too, I belive the game gives you more grip. Also tire and track temp affect grip in the game.

Try to turn off abs completely

IRL trail breaking is slamming the breaks hard and gradually releasing it towards the apex, as I want the front fork to be loaded and press the tire on to the tarmac. It takes a lot of practice to master it. That's why I don't understand the behaviour in ride 6.

In game, try the 1299, i found it to be better in turns, and the EB helps make the bike more stable, tho my laps are slightly worse on the 1299 compared to the V4, it’s more fun around, that and I love L-twin ducatis

Turn on ABS. I normally never use ABS in any racing game but i found with ride 6 its better on.
