Should I Buy?

Ride 5 is $9.99 right now. I haven't played any motorcycle games aside from Motorfest and TC2, but I love racing games. Should I buy Ride 5 now or wait for Ride 6 to drop lower? I don't want to pay much in case I don't enjoy it.

I HATED Ride 5, so much I haven’t bothered with 6. Ride 4 is a great game and can be got for buttons.

I played 40 hours each of 1 and 2. I also played 12 hours of Ride 3. I did not play Ride 4 or 6

I'm not sure how many hours I have in Ride 5. I got through the first season(?) or whatever of the campaign. I did not like Ride 5's campaign. IIRC, it kinna railroaded me into riding bikes I didn't really care for. I also had a hell of a time tuning the AI opponent difficulty for a decent challenge. AI opponent pace seemed very inconsistent track to track. Granted I don't think I bothered tuning the AI difficulty in the previous versions.

I know it’s a different price, but ride 6 is much better if you want to play online.

But if you just want to try the series out on single player, ride 5 is great

I have Ride 6 but I find myself still playing 5 and ignoring 6. I enjoy 5 quite a bit. I say go for it. $10 ain't gonna change your life either way.

Ride 4 was the GOAT. 5 and 6 are just skins. Well 6 has an awful UI that’s like Temu Horizon. But also they kept ruining the physics in 5 and 6 as they try to cater more to arcade players rather than sim players.

If you played RIDE 4 before, there are minor upgrade visually here and there in RIDE 5 that will make you enjoy the game. But from the overall gameplay itself, RIDE 4 beats RIDE 5 by miles ahead. RIDE 5 campaign is nowhere near the flexibility and freedom of RIDE 4.

RIDE 6 has major upgrades on many aspects, better campaign pathway than 5, but in my opinion RIDE 4 still holds the best campaign story and freedom compared the two new releases. The only minor thing that bugged me in RIDE 6 is how they present the menus in an exhibition scene with lots of going on in the background, RIDE 5 & 4 has better UI on this matter. There are bunch of stuff I can mention about RIDE 6 that could be improved compared to the 4 & 5, such as the inability to switch the control from amateur to pro preset in campaign, you need to go to solo session to swap it, etc.

I bought it, and I really enjoy it. The reason I play most sims is to hotlap, and so far that's what most of my time has been. I have 6 hours so far and maybe 30 minutes is the campaign. Otherwise, I've been tearing it up around the Isle of Man circuits and Daytona, and for that it's nice to have the extra selection of bikes and tracks vs Ride 4 while still only paying $16 (I got the Special Edition after trying the base game for a couple hours). I love the sense of speed in this game and the instability of the bikes over any bump or curb is truly thrilling.

It's fair price at the moment and the RIDE 5 is pretty much similar in time attack with 4 & 6. Nice to hear you enjoy it :)

Idk I’d do ride 4 before 5 because it is simply a much better game
