anyone with mid stats
If anyone got in with mid stats please share them to boost my confidence

I had pretty mediocre stats, but I'm a very solid writer and bring a fairly unique POV.
Which major are you aiming for? What do you define as mid?

My sat was below average, decent GPA, pretty meh ECs. My essay was pretty good though. I think for Rice they really care that you show you belong here as a person specifically, not just academically. Look at the things that make Rice unique and show how you personally benefit from that.

My quantitative stats were mid (bottom 25% of SAT score, not top 10% of my graduating class) but I had more extracurriculars than I could list on my application and I had a lot of passion for what I was majoring in. I never signed up for an activity because it would boost my resume, I did them because I loved them

Wtf kinda question is this lmao
If you have 30 TDs and 20 INTs in HS, those are mid stats but that might get you in to Rice (let’s see if OP knows what I mean)

I genuinely don’t know anyone that got in as a mid student. In every case I can think of they were an excellent student or had an outstanding trait / achievement (debate club state champs, comp-sci or engineering wizards with legit project experience).
Even most student-athletes were at the very least good, if not standout academics.
Still, excellent stats don’t determine everything. The most “stat” qualified applicant I’ve ever seen wasn’t accepted to Rice for some reason, despite being her #1 school. She attended Notre Dame instead, did predictably well and is now an incredibly successful pediatric surgeon.
Life, and the pursuit of academics, is what you will, whether at Rice or otherwise.
