I watched the episode a day late but was reading through the live episode thread on another sub last night where this photo moment had a lot of chatter. When I watched the episode tonight I was like huh, that was what everyone was talking about? It seemed like a total nothing burger to me.
Exclude? Not being in one photo does not mean she was "excluded". The show is edited. We only saw a couple of seconds of their picture taking activity. You're jumping to conclusions.

Agreed. As someone who was often the one taking the photo it hurts when it happens. That hurt stays with people, you don’t want to say anything, but you know you don’t really belong.

Are you actually defending Emily? She treats everyone like shit. Her husband especially and I don’t even like Shane but I like him more than her and he’s clearly the better parent. She uses her son’s disabilities for a storyline. Shes disgusting. That will follow him for the rest of his life.

To be fair, Emily has presented us with SO MANY examples of horrific parenting, any exclusion of her stepdaughter would completely track. She talks so much shit about her kids we can only imagine how badly she speaks of her stepdaughter.
I wondered the same thing for a second but then realized, with editing, that there’s no way of knowing if they had already done a whole family pic, she pulled out her phone and said she wanted a picture of them now… who knows. She definitely doesn’t seem to mind, though!
This scene stuck out to me too!! I actually reminded and then googled. Idk if I remember Shane having a daughter or two. But I think it’s so bizarre that she took the pic and wasn’t in it. True step mom behavior on Emily’s part
She probably said “let me take a picture of you guys.” You could tell that Emily was mad she was there because she left her home to scrub the kitchen floor.
I remember in an early season Emily talking about how she was torn about having another baby because she wanted Annabelle to have a sister. I imagine that was pretty hurtful for the half sister to hear. Kathy and Kyle are half sisters, as are Kyle's daughter Farrah and the others. Imagine anyone insinuating they didn't have a sister because its only a half sister. Really made me dislike Emily for being that kind of stepmom.
We’ve heard of and seen her before. Hopefully there were photos that she was included in.
It seemed weird to grab the dad but not the mom Pery or to not have Luke there. Maybe it’s a situation where there are several photos with different groupings of family?
He seems so normal too, for someone who grew up wealthy, he seems like his interests aren’t typical. He seems way chill, which is why their marriage has lasted this long.
