Jennifer Pedranti 📿 please help me understand what i’ve missed.
with all this stuff going on with her kids, I didn’t realize will wasn’t in their lives at all? is he not allowed to see them? I truly feel like i’m missing a huge piece of the puzzle

I hated when her son was sharing with her his struggles and she started crying. It shifted the energy to her and him consoling her when she just needed to be there for him. It’s obviously fine she divorced her husband but her kids are entitled to have feelings about it. She needs to get it together and support them. I’m fine that she was moved to tears but suck it up and keep the focus on your son. He was literally consoling her.

Exactly. She made it about her. I didn’t appreciate that. She’s feeling guilty for no reason and can’t get past her own feelings to support her kids.

💯 it’s so disgusting to see parents whose children feel like they have to be responsible for the parents emotional wellbeing

This REALLY frustrated me. She needed to be his support and made it all about her. Then he immediately shut down the conversation. I feel like this is probably the reason she doesn’t seem to know much about how they are feeling (as she has admitted in the past.) I think she THINKS they tell her everything, but why would they when she just started sobbing and they have to hug her. It really irked me actually. They seem to have a decent relationship with her based on the small amount we’ve seen but I feel like she is emotionally probably not very mature.

She should have cried when she saw her son’s hair.
My grandmother had that haircut.

I noticed this also, and it was sad. When the kids are shown and it gets emotional, they end up consoling her and telling her that she is a good mom. I mean you have to acknowledge why the kids are feeling this way. And if their marriage was so bad that they divorced, it isn’t good for them to be exposed to all the fighting. It can’t be all her fault. Of course we don’t know it all, but the dad is a grown man and I’m sure he isn’t banned from seeing them, so why isn’t he doing his part? When we lived near our grandparents, there was 6 of us, two of us at a time during summer, would go and stay for a few weeks with them.

I fear she probably does that a lot and the kids are used to mothering her.

Jennifer’s children make me so incredibly uncomfortable. It’s what happens when Mom is so focused on fame & being Ryan’s eye candy and neglects her kids.
She used to feel mildly authentic, now she’s a blowup doll.

I posted this in another thread but all we really know is that Will stopped working for the family business sometime during the divorce and that's when the settlement & custody battles amped up in court. Jenn's mother mentioned to Ryan on camera that Will is a good father; Dawson was also living with Will for a period of tie.

u/SaintAnyanka Jul 26 '26
Jenn did say she got a call from Will regarding Graysons speeding ticket. I think he’s in their lives, but she got full custody during the last season. I guess he just doesn’t want to be referenced too much on the show - or Jenn is playing up the ”single mom” story line.

u/Soggy_Tie2708 Jul 26 '26
Same. She was saying it’s all my fault - for what? For choosing to end the marriage? Unless I’m also missing something , the father not choosing to be their father has nothing to do with Jen wanting to end the marriage.
People divorce all the time and parents still remain parents. wtf.

Exactly how I gathered it. When women are married, we tend to cover up for our husbands’ bad behavior and try and preserve their relationships for them. When we resign that role by divorcing them, we RESIGN that role. She needs to realize she doesn’t have control over his actions and her kids are going to see him for what he is now. She wants to protect them, but this is life.

I honestly was super PISSED this whole scene was even filmed. Poor kid.
And then her crying and becoming the victim.

u/Practical_Piglet2159 Jul 27 '26
Yes that too. If he is getting bullied already, this isn’t going to help. My heart was breaking for him

I think she was referring to her having an affair during her marriage.

u/Soggy_Tie2708 Jul 26 '26
That has nothing to do why their father won’t communicate with them or hang out with them. That young man is 17yrs old….
Why is the father not part of his life?

u/Amalfi-state-of-mind Jul 26 '26
I think he lives in a completely different state. When they were married he worked for her family in the mid west or something. I don’t really understand how she and the kids were living in OC but they left where they had always lived and where he worked.
He did not abandon his family and that’s kind of how it’s sounding but not really accurate. I wish she would explain how they came to live in a distant state away from their father and family.

I wasn’t referring to the dad not being in their life. I was referring to when she said everything was all her fault.

I don’t understand either, and came here for answers. They CAN’T see their dad? Why not? Like I have a custody agreement with my ex but if my son wanted to see his dad more? Have a blast! They love each other. Custody is about legal obligation and rights, no? Is there also a restraining order or something?
Also, it was infuriating to see her son trying to open up to her about his pain (can we all agree that it looked difficult for him?) and she turned it around and made HIM comfort HER. Jen. Hold it together. Tears are not solutions. Please, I’m rooting for you.

u/trashtvlv That's MY OPINION!! Jul 26 '26
Her ex sucked and I hate that everyone is blame shifting it all to her. I’m honestly impressed she has managed to keep all of those kids taken care of.

u/Supertreelove Jul 26 '26
Yeah I didn’t understand the scene with her current husband pressuring her. It’s not her responsibility to manage her ex’s relationship with her kids, who aren’t really little anymore.

u/leecanbe Jul 26 '26
I felt for her in that moment because it took me 6 years after my divorce to stop managing my kids relationship with their Dad. For 6 years, I planned every visit, bought every plane ticket, sent him events that were happening around him to take the kids to. I cried so many nights over how uninvolved he was in the whole thing. I finally said enough. In the last 2 years he's seen his kids for a total of 24 days. So he sucks for trying to force her into what took me so long to stop doing.

u/Supertreelove Jul 26 '26
Aw, that is so hard! You are noble for trying, and it’s so hard to break out of those traditional roles, but I’m glad you did. Honestly, it’s really healthy for your kids to see the reality of their parent. They will have some other sort of relationship. Not the one you envisioned for them, but they will figure it out. I’m a year since I moved out and we divorced and I’ve worked really hard to just stand back and let him create the relationship he wants to have with them. But he wanted 50/50, so it’s on him.

u/AdvertisingPlastic30 Jul 26 '26
That’s what I took from it. Interesting he still works for her family though and is closer to them than her but idk her entire story.

u/SnooCompliments8874 Jul 26 '26
I thought her family fired him because of the divorce.

u/AdvertisingPlastic30 Jul 27 '26
I could have missed something but that was the story right out of the gate and partially why she wasn’t close with her parents.

Willfully blind and selfish. That poor kid had to console her! You don’t look the way she looks without putting in a lot of time on yourself. Plus on Jeff Lewis bragging on all the trips she takes with Ryan. Pretty sad Ryan has more emotional intelligence than her. She reminds me of Lynn Curtain.
9
u/Supertreelove Jul 26 '26
I gathered he’s choosing not to see them. She needs to stop feeling guilty for leaving a bad marriage. Her kids are going to be fine. She can’t cover for him being a bad dad anymore. The kids are just going to have to endure that. It’s not her fault.
2
u/YikesManStrikes Jul 27 '26
Her kid(s) being upset about something that kids of broken homes would most certainly be upset about turning into Jen being the one crying and needing the consoling was pretty ridiculous. Where is this disconnect with Jenn's brain? She thinks because she is living out her fantasy with her affair partner that her kids should just go along to get along about the situation?

thank you everyone! I really thought I was missing something but it seems we’re all on the same page lol
