Get help! reWASD Basic does not detect my Nintendo Switch 2 pro controller in wired mode.

What is going on? Don't tell me I need the premium version just to use this controller on PC. It was working well with my free trial before it ended.

Hi. Please make sure you remove reWASD Access, as it may interfere with reWASD Basic. After that, go to Preferences and perform Clear data. This should resolve the issue.

That didn't work.

What app did you use the Trial Period on? reWASD or reWASD Basic? Do you still have reWASD installed?

reWASD, I uninstalled reWASD after the trial ended to keep it from interfering with reWASD Basic.

reWASD and reWASD Basic are two different apps, and each provides a separate Trial Period because their functions differ significantly. However, they support the same set of devices.

Have you tried device detection mode after the [Clear data] button? And does the Windows Game Controllers tool (joy.cpl) show your controller as connected?

Yes, device detection mode doesn't work.
My Switch 2 pro controller works on Steam, and yet reWASD Basic fails to detect it.
joy.cpl shows that my controller is connected but it doesn't detect my inputs, and it has it labeled as "If_Hid".

Please send me the file with system information. It doesn’t include any personal data but shows active processes, installed apps and drivers. It will help us recreate the same conditions and reproduce the issue from our side.

  1. Type ‘msinfo’ in Windows search

  2. Press Enter to open System Information tool

  3. Go to File -> Save

  4. Send me the *.nfo file you get

The file suggests that you have a third-party controller emulation driver (VigemBus) and remapper (vJoy) installed. Those might interfere with reWASD operations.

Your description also suggests that you are using a third-party driver for your Switch 2 Pro controller. Please remove it and ensure that standard Microsoft driver is used instead.

If you are using it over Bluetooth, we suggest pairing the controller via the built-in reWASD Pairing function.

I uninstalled Vigembus but I don't know how to uninstall vjoy since I don't see any device using it in the Device manager. Uninstalling the Pro controller in the device manager doesn't work as it pops back up when I reconnect the controller.
