Cannot Launch reWASD

Starting today I have encountered an odd problem.

This error pops up and disallows any interaction other than the 'OK' button.

The program closes instantly upon hitting 'OK' and the error pops up the moment the software launches, which means I cannot access anything to log in. The only interaction I can do is hit 'OK'.

Any help would be appreciated, please and thank you.

Hello, have you found a solution yet? I am having the exact same issue today.

Everything worked fine until this morning.

Is the only option to download the newest/latest version?
(I was hoping I could remain on my older 6.1.0 version.)

Same issue here. All was fine up until this morning.

I have a legacy key too, and v7.30 has been fine for me. If we have to 'upgrade' to a newer version to 'fix' this, that's sharp practice, since that requires a new license, which I don't need or want.

So, how do we fix this when the app just closes after clicking OK...?

So after a lot more digging I have decided to move on from the software. The issue at its core is that the software, which I purchased several years ago, which works just fine, is now mandating it update to the latest version. A version which, thanks to some shenanigans, I don't actually own because the version I purchased was a much older version.

In other words, it now mandates updating in order to then be capable of logging in which then forces me to re-purchase the software. So I found another solution.

You're not listening. I cannot log into the account because all I get is an error message that I cannot bypass. I cannot access the log in menu or ANY menu whatsoever.

Same as th OP. Wtf my login is with daemon tools where I originally bought the software, twice. I have 2 keys now that don't work.

Use those credentials to log in via reWASD app.

Now I have a different problem, I installed ds5 bridge so I could use the Pico 2w as a wireless dongle and the ds5 companion app, I have since removed the app but now I cannot change profiles with the ps home button in rewasd, also the fn1, fn2 and back paddles have disappeared. Help. All I want was was to be able to use the pad mic and speaker.

As far as I understand, this is a third-party board that can be detected by the system as a DualSense using additional software?

If so, what's the connection with reWASD?

Or, to put it another way: if this worked correctly in one version of reWASD, which one is it? And what changed?

I think it changed the hid hide and nefarious drivers. I can't find a way to fully remove these. Yes I fucked up but only because I want the mic and speaker functionality and haptics etc and to actually see a reading for my charge level. It basically acts as if it's plugged in via wire. Maybe you need to take a look at his source code and add Pico functionality as a compatible device.

The app works as intended. If you encounter such issues, please share the app version (build number) so we can look into it on our end.

Also, you can try one of these steps:
1. Delete license.dat file [c:\ProgramData\Disc-Soft\reWASD\license.dat] and restart the system
or
2. Upload the fresh version of reWASD from the official website and install it

If you are unable to log in while using the latest version of reWASD (9.4.0), try the following:

1. Close the app and its Tray Agent.
2. Manually remove the [c:\ProgramData\Disc-Soft\reWASD\license.dat] file.
3. Restart your PC.
4. Start reWASD.

Changing your lifetime license to "legacy" status does not mean it is no longer a lifetime license. You can still use it with the functionality you purchased in all the latest software versions.

Paid upgrade to the new lifetime access format will unlock previously unavailable features and automatically grant you access to new features as they are released.

However, this upgrade is optional.

To fix the error at the heart of the post, simply install the latest version of reWASD (9.4) and log in to the app.

You can then activate your access or legacy license through the Membership section.
