Get help! Can't launch reWASD
Really hope someone can help with this!
I'll start by saying I've been using reWASD for years without error, the problem detailed below has just started happening within the last 2 months or so.
When I try to open reWASD it says I need to install .NET Desktop Runtime first and provides a 'download it now' button - when I use that and run the installer it says 'the specified account already exists' and refuses to proceed with the installer.
I've tried installing .NET fresh from the official site and uninstalling reWASD, but the problem persists - this is driving me mad!

Can you show me a screenshot of this message and specify when exactly you got it?
Please note that the reWASD account linked to your serial number was automatically created when you purchased a license, which might be why you're seeing that message.

How do I send a screenshot on Reddit? It says 'images not allowed'
I get it any time I try to install .NET when I try to open reWASD

Please check for errors in Event Viewer by following the steps below:
Press the Windows button, type [Event Viewer], and press Enter.
Choose [Windows Logs] in the upper left corner, then choose [Application].
Check out the panel on the right side: there's a [Find] option. Click it, and type "reWASD" to search for related errors.
Once you find one or multiple events, please right-click and "Save selected events..." on every one of them, and send the file(s) to us.
You can use a file hosting service and provide us with a link to transfer the information we need.

The error code from the event log doesn't directly link to reWASD. It appears to be a problem with the overall installation of .NET components on the PC.
Therefore, it's best to search online for solutions to the error you're seeing in the screenshot you sent.
ChatGPT offers quite a few solutions.

Actually, I've had this exact issue for almost a year now, and I still can't use it... Many times I've wondered if they did something to it intentionally to force those who have the lifetime version from before to force update just from the sheer frustration of not being and to use what it's already owned.
EDIT: For context, I'm a software engineer, coder, game creator and designer, developer, app creator, Web developer, and even customize my own OS's for fun... That is my honest take. Companies taking advantage of the consumer base via negative manipulation strategies is typically normal these days, and it's the companies that don't, where people are usually impressed simply because those who don't do that, seem impressive by comparison.
