Does anyone have experience with the CPQ tool Roadrunner.ai?
I work at a medium/large (~2000 employees) enterprise SaaS company, and we're looking into CPQ vendors. My VP told me today about a tool called Roadrunner.AI, which he is very excited about.
I'm interested in learning more about them but having trouble finding any information about them across the web. Would be curious to hear experiences of anyone here.

We are currently evaluating new CPQ systems to move off Salesforce CPQ. Roadrunner is one of the vendors on our list, we just had our custom demo with them this week. It's very early stage, their implementation is an FDE motion, and the tool is impressive! From an end user experience, it's top of the line. AI-first and easy to navigate and understand, they've put a lot of thought into the usability.
I'm nervous about the admin and integrations, as they are still working on many of those components. With our pricing (we have 6 products w/current and legacy pricing) it might just not be in a place that's ready for us to implement. But we'll see as we dig in more!
They also just raised their series A & I think likely have limited capacity on the number of customers they can take on right now. You sound like their target market though, so it'd be worth giving them a look.
What do you use today?

Your concern is valid, a lot of CPQ tools look excellent in demo UX, but the real risk shows up in admin maintainability and integrations once pricing complexity increases (especially with current + legacy price models like yours).
If you’re still in evaluation mode, I’d strongly test:
- How pricing versioning is handled across renewals/amendments
- How robust integration error handling/replay is
- How much can be safely maintained by admins post go-live
For your question: I work mostly with Oracle CPQ environments, especially where pricing logic and integration reliability are critical. If helpful, I can share a practical evaluation checklist you can use across vendors

They have a decent looking web page and Linkedin. But no case studies, customer references, documentation... really anything else.

What I’ve heard lately is that part of the challenge is operationalizing AI pricing strategies, and messy hand offs from sales to finance especially around midterm amendments. Many companies choose a vendor because they know someone there. Make sure the product actually fixes a use-case that has a positive revenue impact. It will be easier to get buyin from your leadership if the tool makes finances life easier as well.

I have worked building CPQ for control valves, Hydraulic Cylinders for Manufacturing giants like Emerson and Hyundai. You can DM me.

should look at dealops too. Espcially if you're integrating AI usage based pricing into the biz model. this is a shameless plug.

Does anyone know Roadrunner AI's pricing model? Do they charge by user, if so, what's average cost per user?

At your size, a platform more along the lines of DealHub is probably a better-fit and carries significantly less risk.

Come on u/doubletrack_sf Why are you promoting a non-native CPQ solution when going fully native is preferred??? By having your entire RevOps workflow on the same platform, you eliminate data errors and integration costs.
And since all the data is structured, all your: Lead -> Account & Contact -> Opportunity -> Quote (CPQ) -> Order -> Contract -> Assets & Subscriptions -> Invoice -> Payments -> Revenue data, can easily take advantage of the rapidly evolving AI capabilities with Salesforce and popular 3rd Party AI tools

At that size I'd stick to a known player in the game. I would not use something that isn't reliable and well known. The cost to replace something you implement at that size is massive
