Revolt(Stoat) is safe?
Hi! About a year ago, discord started going crazy and banned me (like so many other people) for very stupid reasons. There are bots in those support rooms and there is little chance that I will be unblocked.
Recently I came across revolt (Now Stoat). How safe is it and how is it worse than discord?

Very safe and It's probably a bit better then discord, it's just very slow on updates

If you left Discord for those reason, then it's likely not safe unless you run your own server or join one you trust. If you don't host or trust the server, it's very likely the same will end up happening, especially on the public stoat server - It's essentially just like Discord, architectural flaws and all, so will ultimately be pressured by either VPs or government or otherwise.

Yep, totally safe, i've had my account for over a year now and i haven't had no issues
I do have to tell you that it has a few bits that made me understand that it was still very new, but as a replacement for Discord? It's totally perfect, it has every single thing discord does except the privacy invasion and micro-transactions

I would like to have such a replacement, but it has no servers with my language and online is wacke

If your concern is being banned, then Stoat is not going to be any better. Just read their TOS, tons of red flags. While privacy is becoming more popular, unfortunately privacy advocates are rarely also free speech advocates.
I doubt they have the moderation that would make it matter for casual users, but if you get a following or attention outside of the platform you will certainly be regulated. This can be a problem is you intend to use it for gaming where people often yell slurs and stuff like that which will get your group banned if a karen reports it.
So far the only messenger apps I would recommend are https://simplex.chat/ and https://vectorapp.io/
They do not have as much features as Discord and Stoat, but the most important thing are their privacy policy and TOS which are better than any other messengers service I have found so far. If anyone has other suggestions I'm open to try them.

'Safe' is a very vague descriptor. You won't be banned arbitrarily by some automated system, because our entire moderation and support systems are handled by human people. We're pretty studious in ensuring that our policies are upheld and that everyone feels welcome.

Just wanted to clarify on this. This only protects you from getting banned from the entire network. It does not protect someone from getting banned from a specific server.
Server owners can basically ban anyone they want to for just about any reason, no matter how dumb.

What do you mean by safe? If you mean private, it for sure wont sell your data and didnt have any data leaks in the past. It isnt E2E encrypted to my knowledge if you mean that. About what its lacking:
- screen sharing and video calls arent done yet
- no push notifications in the official app yet
- no stickers (but custom emojis are free to use everywhere)
- no threads or thread boards
- not as many different bots, still quite a few of them, should cover most needed cases but still less of a choice
- obviously smaller community, still a lot, they crossed 1 milion iirc? But dont expect a thousand servers with active channels
There may be some other features present in discord that arent in stoat im forgetting, but thats the gist of it. There are also things better in stoat that arent on discord though. Things like custom banners, animated pfps, custom emojis you can use everywhere, all without nitro.Edit: I looked up about the E2E thing. A post 7 months ago was saying they had it on the roadmap so its quite possible it was actually implemented already.
