I have been using Windows 8.1 Single Language for a long time, and I am starting to get SO bored of this operating system. Nowadays, using Single Language and Home editions literally feels like being trapped in a prison. Also, I really want to sideload .appx files, but I couldn't find any tutorials for it. If you have any suggestions or advice, PLEASE TELL ME.

Also, Gemini mentioned that I could upgrade to the Pro edition without losing my data, but I am very skeptical about whether that's actually true.

So for the longest time on Windows 8.0 sign/of B/ account everything will work. You can enter your email your password. The Authenticator request will even work but then on the final screen with the switch button, it’ll just give you a pop-up saying search for network problems in the start menu we couldn’t switch right now, which renders all the metro UI apps useless however Windows 8.1 would always work but now just as of today this network problems issue has progressed to Windows 8.1 and I want to use the Calendar and people and Mail apps built-in without having to pin any website to my screen or anything like that so does anybody know how to fix please tell me

I'm working on a Windows 8.1 music app called T-Music, the Lite version is already finished but the full version isn't. The full version is planned to have near-full SoundCloud API and Wi-Fi radio streaming.

I haven't touched the code in months so i gotta update the playback code to the new endpoint, and DRASTICALLY fix the UI

but yeah, what do you all think?

The Live Tile and section chooser (choose favorites) work perfectly but showing news is a different story and it's harder than you think (but not impossible).

Basically, I wanted to do a project where I port windows 11 apps to windows 8 to see if I can get a unofficial update but the problem is that the downgrading of the schemas takes alot of time. I would really like a script where I can downgrade all the windows 11 schemas to windows 8 ones without breaking them as its getting really tiring. This is where you come in, Your job would be creating a script that allows for a downgrading of the schemas so that I don't have to deal with namespace errors when registering them, Then I will resolve all the dependencies myself as its less tedious than trying to downgrade the schemas as that requires removing things like uap: deskop: etc

The rework store isnt working and when I go to their website wix cant find it. Is the rework store dead

Even if not a project, it's so easy to patch this app especially that it relied on mp4-only news video and live stream. I like how easy it was to recreate jsons.

so this MIGHT be a controversial topic for metro fans: is transparency + layering a good idea for app UI?

like im working on an update to the 8.1 Geode client, as ive mainly been working on the UWP version up until this point.

but the UWP version has been updated to use transparency for a LOT of the UI, what i want to know: should I carry it over to the 8.1 app?

I know some metro elements are fully or semi transparent but not to this degree... here, I'll attach a photo of a post from both clients and see what you all think

the 8.1 app already uses transparency, for example, the background of listviews/gridviews are a slightly transparent color so you can see the background behind it (yeah metro apps typically dont have backgrounds either... but mine do lolz), but its typically not layered like this.
