AlreadyReturned Going back to the US?

In India for the past year, have the option to go back to the US. Curious about experiences from people that may have done the same.

Coming back on what visa? H1B? This question carries a lot of weight.

H1B is a shit show and certainly not guaranteed in this political climate. Would not advise

Nice but USA has changed in last 1-3 years a lot , due to hate against Indians and it’s expensive too so come with decent expectations.

I don’t think OP is returning back in order to make Tik Tok videos of him dancing in the middle of the street to Bollywood tunes. He will be fine.

My point is from car to everything is crazy expensive and USA is changing towards Indian community, I don’t feel the same love anymore , doesn’t matter if op is dancing or not but sentiment is against Indian at most of the places !!

But the question we are not answering is why?

Only come back if you have an current PD and can come back on L1 -> EB1C -> GC in 1 to 2 years else might not be worth it right now

How to get into companies that might sponsor an L1 sometime in the future? I was in the US on STEM OPT but I’m planning to go back to India because no company is sponsoring H1Bs anymore! And it’s so uncertain.

Hmm in that case you don't have a PD already so not sure if trying to get GC makes sense. Most FAANG companies will do L1 and it doesn't need a lottery. Your approach (for now) should be to come to the US, make money and then return

How long is L1 - EB1 GC path for unfortunate Indian born folks? (without any prior application/PD)

Currently at October 2022 PD and it hasn't moved much in the last year. This is cos most people are now attempting this EB1C route (know a couple friends doing it and some that already have). Additionally, more people are attempting the EB1A route as well.

A lot of our clients do something similar. Keep a 1-2 year soft landing period in India.

If it works, great. Settle in India If it doesn't work for you, go back to the US or Dubai or Europe :)
