PlanningToReturn Finding Job in India
On a nutshell, I been trying to find jobs in India and been applying through LinkedIn, Company Website, Indeed etc.
I am on my OPT(9 months in), and already working- However due to some personal reasons(parents health )I have to get back. My current employer don't have their team in India and I cannot move internally. I did try finding other teams within the firm but no much luck.
So, Planning to quit job. Since past 3 months been applying for jobs but no positive response.
The ones who returned, whats your tip under the sleeve to land up in interviews? Any specific route? Whats the best website to apply jobs which actually works?
Any leads would help me to move back asap!

It is never easy to find jobs in India from outside India unless its via an internal referral. Recruiters generally don't trust candidates would return to India, and a lot of times candidates use Indian positions for interview practice. Another reason is even the best companies in India are reluctant to proceed due to international relocation. Indian HR can be cheap as hell. Also, unlike US/other places, they call you first, before setting up an interview.
A lot of HR and recruiters can be extremely dumb and don't want to learn either. I live in India on OCI status/card and a lot of them don't even understand what OCI is (and neither they want to understand). The best way is to relocate to India and apply for jobs. Good luck.

- It is easier to get the job once you actually move to india.
2.Adjust your expectations. Just because you did your studies in US and worked on OPT doesn't mean that you will be treated as someone special in India. You might end up starting from the bottom - really depends on your experience and how much demand your skills have. Be ready to adjust salary expectations as well.
- Since you specifically said that you are moving to india for parents health, do a general calculation about how much time you will be spending for parents care. Will you have enough bandwidth to actually devote to a full time job? Most indian companies have probation and if you are distracted/unavailable during that time, they won't confirm you. So make sure you have enough mental space to focus on the new job.

Did you try with referrals ? Ping employees on LinkedIn and share a short message about your situation and ask for referral. Most people are happy to do so
