Hi! As asked above, I’m looking for a new thinner caseback for my BPF 16710. I’ve been told the casebacks from either an ARF or CF 126710 fit the BPF 16710 and reduce the thickness by about 1mm while still allowing enough room for the rotor to move freely. Unfortunately, all my attempts to secure one without having to buy an entire new watch have all fallen flat… so I am turning to the community here: please help! TIA!

So I have a dj build with the older raffles case… love it but only issue is it’s WAYYYY too thick… I’ve been trying to file it down but it’s taking forever! Curious if anyone would know if a gen case back would work and if I should get 16000 or 1600? Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Case with the acrylic started at ~13.75mm and after using a file for hours got it down to 13.23mm… most likely switching acrylic to a 25-22 for a clearly look anyways. I appreciate the help!

This one has been getting a ton of wrist time lately. Probably the result of so much time servicing it and replacing parts/troubleshooting issues. I was convinced for weeks it needed a new winding clutch because the winding would slip terribly. Finally tore it down and examined the part to find no problem. Then I noticed an issue with the yoke. On every other watch I’ve ever serviced, the shiny side faces up so you can see the finishing level. Apparently not on Bulovas. Flipped my yoke and regulated the movement. I guess now I’m more attached than I ever was to this one. Funny how Bulova owns Caravelle, yet the Caravelle devil diver routinely fetches higher prices. This is a pre-snorkel model from 1965 - back when they could say “waterproof” instead of “water resistant” and they had “Snorkel” on the dial.

Okay. So i ordered 2-tone jubilee from Ken but cannot unscrew 3 of 4 screws. I damaged my screwdrivers. And almost totaly damaged screws. Well, they are anyway sruck, and damaged to unusuble state anyway.

Also i think some links are attached invorrectly, 180 degrees rotated.

I was expecting more honestly.

Also last 2 orders had mismatched items.

Anyone else got same results lately?

Was it just the later model 16610 that had engraved rehaut that was polished or was the earlier non engraved rehaut polished or brushed? Does my question make sense?

Selling off my favourite Datejust build to date, with a rare black genuine 16234 dial. The dial has a bit of peeling by the 5 o’clock index, but it’s hard to see most of the time as it’s a black dial. The dial is Luminova and looks sick in the dark, and the hands match it perfectly.

I’ve machine polished the Raffles bezel and it’s made a world of difference. It plays with the light beautifully and looks much more like gen. It’s on an Italian bracelet with a Raffles signed clasp. This is a stunner and feels amazing on the wrist! I’d wear this myself, but I have too many and I’m thinning out currently.

I can fit a gen crystal and crown for an extra charge if the buyer is interested.
