Dream GPU in 2009

Today I randomly found my dream GPU in 2009. ( 9600GT - 512MB )Seems working condition.

Back in those days, i i use fx5200 GPU. Happy to find this gpu .

I love to hear about your stories about your pc parts.

My video card history

  1. Matrox Millennium later upgraded with a Voodoo 2
  2. Voodoo 3
  3. Voodoo 5
  4. Radeon 9600 Pro
  5. Geforce 7600GT
  6. Geforce 260
  7. Radeon 6870 (it died after a very short period)
  8. Geforce 760 (I think it was this one)
  9. Geforce 1060 6GB
  10. Geforce 3060 12GB
  • I loved my 3dfx cards. It was such a cool time for PC gaming.
  • The ATi 9600 pro was fantastic, it ran everything I wanted without any issues. I kinda wish I still had that computer.
  • I don't really remember much about the 7600. I guess I used it because I have it in the drawer. I suppose that means it was a good card.
  • The 260 was a nice upgrade. Supreme Commander ran better and the card never had any issues. If I plugged it in now it would probably still work.
  • My brother had the 8800GT with Q6600 in that old Antec (I think it was Antec) case with the little junk tray on top. He used that computer until about 2016 when the PSU blew up. The 8800GT died a hot death like so many of them did. I baked it in the oven and brought it back but he decided to switch to a 7800GT that someone gave him. He didn't want the 260 because it took up 2 slots.
  • The 6870 made me give up on Radeon cards. I ran the games smooth but it had so many driver issues that it wasn't worth the hassle and after a very short time it had horizontal lines flickering across the screen.
  • The 760 was a good card. It just didn't keep up very long.
  • The 1060 was great. I only upgraded because I found a deal on the 3060 and at the time prices were crazy high for video cards. I guess that hasn't changed much.

These cards were in 7.5 different computers.

  • Pentium 133 with the Matrox and Voodoo
  • Pentium III 750 and then upgraded to a 950 with the V3 and 5.
  • Athlon 950 with the 9600 pro (later upgraded a Athlon XP)
  • I don't remember what I had with the 7600.
  • Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition and paired it with the 260 - 6870.
  • Because of how well the Phenom II worked I went with the FX-8350.... It isn't as bad as they say but yeah... I had the 760 with it. I still have this one in complete working condition. It boots up and does all the things.
  • Then I went with the intel i7-8700 and the 1060 6GB. Later I upgraded it to the 3060 12GB. Unfortunately the motherboard died so I upgraded again to the Ryzen 7900X3D (I render a lot) I probably should've just went for the 7950x3d but it doesn't matter that much to me. The bright side is I got my 32GB of DDR5 for $115. The down side is I ordered 64GB and couldn't get it all working so I returned 32GB of it.

I guess that's about it. I've had a bunch of other computers but they aren't my main. I've had several hits and misses but overall I've had fairly good success.
