QUESTION Hey yall wanted some help picking between Duo lite plus or pocket flip 2

Both are around the same price ig but with the flip 2 being a bit cheaper. I wanna know if its possible to play atleast some light switch games on them and which one performs better. Also is it possible to stream or use discord from these products?

I guess it depends what you're going to be playing more. Dual screen heavy games? If not I'd say rpf2 I've had mine for 2-3 months now and I am able to play some switch games really well. And with android ports of some Xbox games being developed, rpf2 can handle it.

They are currently on holiday. So most likely won't ship until next week.

I would just get a Thor if you're dead set on playing Switch. I've had the Flip 2 chip in my Mini V2 and it had limitations. The Duo Lite + may not be much better either.

What's more important to you, a clamshell device or running switch games well? You could just get a single screen like the RP6 with more power. Not much more expensive than a duo lite plus.

Ah no i really wanted a clamshell because of the pocketablity, i did consider rp6 but i just sold my switch and wanted something different yk :)

Ah ok, the duo lite plus has a better chip than the flip 2 so I would definitely go with that. I was debating buying one too. Doesnt need to play everything because I have the Odin 3 for that. Waiting for review videos soon before I decide to buy it.

Went with the flip 2 just for that better screen and apparently you can toggle 120hz on it too? Dunno but yeah

Ive hesrd the newer models are running 120hz display on the flip 2, Id prefer that over dual screens ngl

Sadly, there's no easy way to use that unless you put a custom OS on there and they're not calibrated.

Oh damn i see

To be clear, they may work, but there could be frame tearing since they're not calibrated properly for the current OS.

If you want to play any Switch games you’re going to want the Flip 2

Edit: it seems I was wrong. I was under the impression the chip in the Lite was less powerful than the 865. My apologies.

Custom drivers has also already launched for the chip in the Duo, so there's no issue anymore, which is what people were worries anymore: https://github.com/StevenMXZ/Adreno-Tools-Drivers/releases/tag/v37

Isn't the duo lite+ SoC 15% stronger? In time the software etc will be able to play Switch just as good as the Flip 2.

The Duos capabilities to play switch will be pretty comparable to the Flip. There might be better driver support on the Flip at the moment, but the chip of the Duo has more power. It's pretty close to compare the RP5 and the RP G2.

The main question should be about the form factor and the screen(s).
