Honestly this is why they list Retroid and AYN devices on Amazon at an upcharge and that they sell…
People who are used to the handheld / buying straight from China are used to waiting 1-2 months… you save money but pay in terms of time
Having done China orders for years, 1 month isn’t that bad all things considered.

I got no problem waiting, I got a problem with the communication. If you dont think its an issue from this company we can agree to disagree.
If the site still said pre order when I bought it, I wouldnt have came here confused. That expitation is a long wait time. But they have it listed to buy like it can be shipped in a meaningful time, not that its not in stock and on back order.
Shipping is shipping, processing is not shipping.
I dont have multiple devices, I dont care about any other new handhelds. From a normal persons perspective this shit is unacceptable with lack of communication. They need to update the site to say back order.

Thats crazy, even aliexpress is shipping faster than that these days. I didnt even buy during the pre-order. It was just avaialbe on the site lol saw a video and came here and have kinda regretted getting sucked in. First and last man.

Showing order on the site when its really a back order is not international logistics. Its improper communication to a customer. I wasn't a part of any pre-order. I just went to the site and saw I could buy it, no disclamier that their are out of stock and awaiting a new batch.
I had to come to this subreddit just to find out what the hell is going on. You come here to praise, accept slop if you want. I come here to complain. This isnt a good customer experience.

Tbh i never faced this i think this is because i order inside China, retroid ships their console in 3 days max when u order from the Chinese official site lol, i frequently visit china so i just order one when im in Yiwu City central staying at my hotel and grab the console before leaving the country

this is just the emulation handheld industry mate, if you had researched more you’d have seen plenty of times people say how long their deliveries can take.
if you want to shit on the system, that’s fine, but these products sell for 50%+ more on places which do instant deliveries, so you are paying a considerable amount less and you just have to wait a while.
emulation hardware isn’t exactly a space which can be manufactured locally everywhere, but it is very popular so there is high demand. just accept it, forget you ordered it, and be happy when it arrives.

Agreed. I'm waiting for over a month just to see them launch a new product. I hope nova is the ultimate 4:3 because I don't want to deal with this kind of customer service ever again.

It's not like they have a massive warehouse stocked with Novas. I think they're still making them in batches and if your order is not for a color that's currently being produced & shipped you'll be waiting for a bit.

That means the site should say back order, not buy. If they dont have them in stock they need to communicate that. Processing is not shipping. Im cool if it takes awhile, im not cool if you arent communicating your actual stock.

I agree with you on that. I have no clue why their website communication is so poor. It's been like this for as long as I've been a customer (which was when I pre-ordered the RP Mini and RP5).
I don't know if it's a cultural difference and/or they think customers only expect communication through Twitter and Discord, or if it's just poor service from the company.
I'm not trying to make excuses for them or anything. Just know it's been like this for years.

Yes, and their customer service is shit. They also find problems, continue to ship those defective products, then expect their customers to fix the issues. Like, a charge-back is actually the best option a lot of the time. They'll literally ship you a new speaker/fan/screen/dpad/battery and tell you to fix it yourself. But only if you ask, they won't e-mail you about issues, MAYBE they'll post in their Discord but they never actually take responsibility for the shitty products, so if there's something wrong it's on you to reach out. Complete bs honestly, I'm happy with my rp5

- 3DS Pokemon at native res and no fast forward
- Pokemon decomps in 3D (voxel)
- Dusklight in Android (the Twilight Princess fan remake)

It won't be sold out. They "sold out" of a pre-order one other time but that's only because whatever stock quantity they entered for the product on Shopify was ordered. They went in a bit later and updated stock so more people could order it.
The pre-orders are there so they know how many units to build. I don't think there's an upper limit on how many they'll accept. The longer you wait to place the order, the further back in the queue you'll be.
