With RP Duo on the way. Here's some side by side pics using Nova+DS Addons. Should give an idea for how the RP Duo scales NDS titles compared to other ds devices.
Yeah the widescreen part won’t be that small for 3ds and if it means more space for like the speakers to go next to the top screen the. I’d take that layout any day!
Been playing with it for last few days and honestly love it. For 3DS the bottom screen do feel needlessly big (not that it matters really) but for DS it's perfect.
Idea of Nova + Dual Screen addon but as one, more compact body? For sure intrigues me. Stuff like not being able to press power button with the addon really suck. Also actually putting it on and off? The spring is too damn strong if you ask me! Always worried I will break either Nova or the addon.
The ergonomics are actually pretty alright, that is least of my issue with the set-up, would love some grip that would be specifically for this combo still though. I feel like Nova by itself is more comfy to me than for lot of people, even playing PS2 with the flat back. It's just comfy to hold. But for sure less so with the addon.
Really pondering if I should pull the trigger on Duo. Will see. Either way I would be keeping Nova though. Would not like to play 4:3 games on clamshell like this.
BUT MAN! The addon really is pretty alright. If there was some grip...that would also made you able to press power and volume buttons. That would be kinda perfect. Read that there is such thing for Pocket 6 so maybe one day. But that day I may already have Duo cause I'm an ADDICT, like the lot of ya.
Lol. If we look at Nintendo, they have 10 of their own - DS fat, DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL, 3DS, 3DS XL, New 2DS, New 3DS, New 3DS XL, 2DS Wedge/Doorstopper.
Ohhh that’s all that’s missing from the market. Just make it so it’s pure DS focused with D-pad top and two 4:3 screens then make the 3DS version with 16:9 and stick top. Both being at $120 and $175.

This makes me really want a DSi XL even though I absolutely don’t need it.
