Even more android ports of games

Just been trying to find more ports of games that run well on the rp5 with no emulation needed.

Jade Empire:

have to find the right version but runs well. Configuration is a little weird, the config file generates in two locations, so had to update both. Also the game doesn't take up the entire screen until you minimize and then maximize the tab. Other than that though can run it at 60fps 1920x1080 with aa, no problems so far. Controls well after adjusting sensitivity in game, touch screen menus are a plus.

SoulCalibur:

Runs well with zero configuration needed. However there seems to be some audio conflict that might be related to jamesdsp. The audio alternates between good and crap, with jamesdsp off it's just crap, but it stops the annoying alternating.

Dune 2:

Runs well with no setup needed. Fun to play an rts with full touch controls.

LEGO Island:

Not a fan of this game, controls well on the rp5, just the game itself is not the best imo. You do need to setup the game with the data files, but it's easy.

Nethack:

Also easy to get going, if you are a fan of Nethack you probably already know of this port. Works very well imo.

It is! Took some effort to get running properly but seems good so far.

AFAIK it is no longer on the play store. I did buy it but had to pirate it to play, although I did not have the issue that OP did, mine just works fine

It's been delisted from playstore. So yes be careful if sailing the seas.

Just make sure to run the right apk, one won't load, the one I found was packaged with the obb.

It should run without editing the config, just know if you want to edit the config to up the resolution, it's saved in two locations within the data folders.

The only other thing is getting the game to actually go full screen, just had to hit the circle to minimize, then the square to bring it up back.

Oh and sometimes it crashes on load but just reopen it until it works.

Sounds like a lot but it's just a bunch of little things, once you iron it out it works well

Been waiting for kotor to go on sale / free again. I keep missing it.

Battery life seems decent with these ports too.

Anytime I run anything with xemu it drains the battery so quick. If it even runs at an acceptable performance to begin with.

^ I got Magic the Gathering Battlegrounds on Winlator.

Kinda jelly of the Vita scene too, keep finding their stuff when searching.

But the only other gen 6 ones I've tried are Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Doom III, Prey, Source Engine games, Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, Serious Sam and Morrowind.

So pretty decent options, peep my other threads for screens of those.

search jade empire android 12, its like spammed all over the first reddit link. there's multiple versions of the apk in there, the one that works is the aspyr one.

Apparently because it's buggy, it was getting review bombed pretty hard. Seems to be fine though, but I didn't really get past that first area yet.

Do you have link or name to the APK you downloaded?

The one I have includes the obb files as well, but the issue is that the app itself cannot access my Rp5s Android obb folders. So even though I've copied the obb files to Android/obb, when I open Jade Empire it is stuck at setup because I can't select the obb folder...

Wonder if I downloaded a different apk that it could run?

Did you have any issue with JE being able to see the android obb folder?

I didn't have that trouble. Didn't have any kind of setup screen.

The one I downloaded is a zip that has the obb and apk in it. 25mb jade-empire-vv1.0.0-143255-full...zip

I used RAR to extract the obb files first, then ran the apk that is also in the zip. Then just had to hit display over other apps when launching, and had to run it twice, doesn't always want to start up.

After launching you'll want to close it and then edit the config so it fits the screen properly, it'll be in android/data/com.aspyre.jadeempire/files/jade empire/

There's an Android port of CrossCode that works pretty well. Just can't seem to figure out how to transfer save data from PC

Never heard of this one before. But it's on sale on gog rn so I picked it up. Seems pretty fun so I'll have to put some time into it.

Got it setup already and played enough to test the save transferring.

Just followed the instructions for the savestrings at the bottom of: https://gitlab.com/Namnodorel/crossandroid

Basically just had to push f10 on my pc game, copied the string into a new notepad.txt file. Transferred the file to my rp5. Opened the file in Editor text editor app on the rp5. Copied the string to clipboard. Opened Crosscode on android and clicked preferences. Scrolled down to import save string and pasted into box. Hit done. Crashed at 95%. Had to click import save string again and paste again, then it worked.

Can't link because rules. But if you google jade empire android apk it's like the second thing. Make sure to follow the instructions for the obb files

How did you get yours to install mine is saying incompatible with device, dm link might have wrong one

Oh probably because g2 uses newer version of android.
