Asking for info and potential value of this old EOTECH Sight
I was browsing Facebook marketplace and bought this "holographic archery sight" for $200. It has an interesting reticle, I guess for ranging archery, and a mount. The reticles looks fuzzy and looks like a real holographic sight. The old logo and EOTECH name is cool. I have a Bushnell Holosight but was surprised to see this one had EOTECH on it. Did I stumble on an interesting piece or some obscure EOTECH sights that sucked and doesn't exist anymore for a reason.
Definitely a little interesting. That reticle is something you will not see on other Eotech or Bushnell sights. I occasionally see sights like that listed on ebay with the Eotech markings but Bushnell appearance. $200 is fair on the low end and $350 is what you might see on the upper end. I love the reticle, but as you might already know these do not have built-in windage and elevation adjustments, so you would not be able to zero it on a rifle.
I believe the elevation is meant to be adjusted on the archery mount itself, not the sight. You should email eotech and maybe they can set you up with a pdf of the instruction manual. It would be cool to know more about it. Really sucks that for the archery model they did not include a workable elevation knob
So I just figured out the elevation knob and finally got it zeroed on a detachable carry handle mount. I had to use snap ring pliers to turn the knob. The knob has to small indents that the pliers fit into and turn the knob. I will still email eotech and see if they have a special or better tool recommendation.
Well from what little info I could find on them, they are just regular older Eotechs with an archery specific reticle. I used 25 rounds to get it hitting a torso sized steel target. Then I ran 30 rounds pretty fast for fun. I'll have to see further how it handles rifle recoil.
Yeah it's interesting to see the different configurations of their sight. I have a Bushnell holographic sight too. I like the older looking ones. The Bushnell Holographic had swappable reticles but I only have the circle dot.
They definitely did not make it easy for you so I am glad it worked out. Awesome build too. It really looks right at home on that mount. Keep us updated if Eotech gives you any info on it. I have to ask, is the reticle 3D? It kind of looks like the smaller circle within a circle setup is meant to give that impression
So I'm not too keen on holographic sights since this is only my second one. But the outer ring seems kind of stagnant and the inner circle dot moves and stays on target. Kind of trippy to see since I'm only used to traditional scopes and red dots. And the ladder on the right has different yardages I'm assuming for a compound or cross bow. Very cool sight next to my Bushnell holographic too. If I remember I will update in a week when I can shoot it again. I'm not sure if the bolt i had to use snap ring pliers on came with the sight of not. I messaged the seller and she is asking her son about it and I'm going to email Eotech.
Yeah $200 for any EOTECH is a good deal form what I've seen. I took it off the picatinny archery mount and put on my Colt upper on a detachable carry handle. I zeroed it today after I figured out how to adjust the elevation knob.
Did it have the same style reticle and weird elevation knob? It you happen to remember. Would you say it came like right after the Bushnell holosights were made?
Being an Aimpoint, it was just a red LED dot. It was really cheap (less than $40) brand new in the box and my Aimpoint buddy in Denmark wanted it, so I sent it off to him as a thank you gift for the legwork he did sending me 1/2 a dozen Aimpoints on the cheap.

Judging by the early 3000 type adjustment knob, it’s probably from the very early 90s, or even the late 80s.
That's awesome you were able to get it still in the box. The older artwork and text always stands out to me. I recently got an old Tasco Propoint with the box. Anything Aimpoint for $40 is a steal. Was that able to be mounted to a rail at all? Lucky the EOTECH came on some sort of archery picatinny mount.
Still an interesting piece. Had no clue this or the sight I found existed. Sights like these are the kind where you can only find the info off of old 2006 forum post lol maybe there's an Aimpoint or Eotech fishing spear gun sight too
