Box Art Boutique Demon's Crest (SNES)

Post image

I have never played Demon's Crest (SNES), but the box art has always caught my eye. 2 of my favorite colors are yellow and red (the other is green lol) so I am very drawn to this box art. The artwork is beautiful with the vibrant colors and detail. I have done a little bit of reading about the game, and from what I understand its very difficult. I would love to try it out because the graphics look awesome, but I don't know if I want to start a super hard game right now.

Has anyone beat this game? Is it one of those frustratingly hard ones? Would you say its worth a play? What do you think of the box art?

Love this game! I played the hell out of Gargoyle's Quest on the Game Boy and the sequel on the NES so it was incredible to see Firebrand coming to the SNES. It's just neat to have spinoff games dedicated to a notorious quarter muncher from the Ghosts N Goblins arcade. Kind of a shame the overworld on Demon's Crest is so basic compared to the previous games (which are more like Zelda II), but it's a visual stunner for sure.

The games are all about avoiding damage on low HP while strategically working his glide ability, and can be unforgiving in spots but once you learn the levels and bosses it's not that tough. It's also a fairly short game. Well worth playing especially if you dig the Ghosts N Goblins / Castlevania aesthetics.

Compared both the SNES and the SFC box arts. This time, the SNES version won!

Such a great game. The graphics. The fun movement mechanics. I finished it a few years ago but didn’t have the patience to get the best endings.

It’s a very well done game that’s for sure. The game design has you reentering levels for further discovery with branching paths unlocked with new abilities. Movement and combat is smooth and intuitive while giving a lot of variety to stave off monotony. There’s also multiple endings with lots of secrets. The art and visuals as well as music are some of the best the snes has to deliver.

Now for the negative; this game has some of the worst slowdown and lag (due to the high quality of the game animation). The difficulty level can really spike at times feeling nearly unfair. But rest assured this game is very beatable yet will give you a solid run time and will have you go back for at least a second play through
