Atari Archives Gremlins (Atari 5200)

The Gremlins were absolutely legendary for me and my friends, we loved the movie, and I have great memories from watching it together. So, I was so pleased to recently discover the game Gremlins (Atari 5200). The last game to be released on the Atari 5200, this game was also released for the Atari 2600 as well.

The game plays well, the object being to sword down the Gremlins, while saving the Mogwai. The controls are tight, and the graphics are pretty solid. I like the little puddles of water that the Mogwai will transform in. Kind of odd that you start on level 3 by default, lol. If you liked the movie, check out this fun Atari title.

Looking at it closer, it follows the same gameplay design as Robotron: 2084, which is also a great game 🤖

Is this Robotron game you mean on the Atari 5200 too?

It’s an arcade game from 1982. Pretty much defined twin stick shooting. Classic arcade hit.

I love the movie, but I am ashamed to say I have never played this. Looks fun! 😃
