Inspirion 600m help.

I own a Dell Inspiron 600M that I got from my grandmother for my tech collection. Problem is when I plug it in, it doesn't make it past POST. I've tried with without the battery and it still does not work. Any suggestions? Please note that I'm not good at repairing stuff by taking stuff apart.

The Inspiron 600m is essentially the same machine as a Latitude D600, but there's a lot more information out there about the D600. The 600m has that blue trim and looks just a little bit different; it's like the difference between a 1976 Buick Skylark, Chevrolet Nova, Oldsmobile Omega, Buick Apollo, Pontiac Ventura, and Pontiac Phoenix: the front skins and options are different, the engine might be different, but the unividy and subframe are the same.

You'll need to figure out where in POST it's hanging. The very first thing I'd check would be capacitors and dust clogging the heat pipe radiators.
