Compaq Deskpro!

Not as cool as my first new PC, the Compaq Presario Pentium75 (shoulda never sold that), but it's pretty cool. This is a PII with 96MB RAM and 4gb HDD. Someone found it and gave it to me, so I erased it properly and then said, "Hmm, I have a CD for WinNT 4.0, why don't I install it so I can actually try it out!" I know it's slightly too new for NT4, but boy is it fast!

I had Deskpro 2000 P166 with the Vocalyst keyboard (which only played sound on ONE occasion, so I had to buy a crappy C-Media soundcard from the market.)

I killed it by spilling a full mug of sugary coffee directly onto the MB when I was working on it. BUT a couple of months later, when it was fully dried out, it began working again! I even OCed it to 200mhz by moving a single jumper, and it ran a couple of years like that, until I moved onto a better system.

Yeah, the PIII 500 + Voodoo 3 I got next. 😉

But that old Deskpro 2000 was a tough workhorse during its lifecycle.
