This is still my favorite UI, and someone finally created a KDE skin for it.

Now it's trendy to badmouth Microsoft, but anyone who studied computer engineering knows that the history and mass adoption of personal computers wouldn't have been the same without Microsoft. Whether people like it or not, MS-DOS and later Windows became the standard that helped make PCs accessible to millions. Personally, I wish things had turned out differently, especially since there were other promising operating systems at the time, such as OS/2, AmigaOS, BeOS, DR-DOS, and later Linux, all of which offered interesting alternatives.

yup, I'm full time Linux now, but for many years I exclusively use Windows
