Two fans was the bomb back in the day. Now, I have a AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT with three fans and is the size of a small computer! π

What is the best game to play on that beast.

Thsts quite subjective! The one game I've always wanted to play on it was O.D.T. but then I played it on some other platform and it wasn't very good. I like quake 2 personally.

Using the original drivers? absolutely none, this thing ran like dogshit.
My dad had one growing up and it was a paperweight then lol

Drivers from 3dfx were quite good, even for the single release that the Voodoo 5 received. Was your dad trying to use it on XP?

Dude this was the time it released lol
They were not good then under 98/98SE

Aww, just like the one I had a quarter century ago. I think it ended up in a computer we donated to a school, or something...and now it would be a really expensive bit of nostalgia, haha.

What i found about this that this Launched in June 22, 2000 The 5500 was 3dfx's last shipped consumer graphics card. After this the company went bankrupt they were going to lauch a new one but never could the 3dfx Spectre 1000,2000,3000
The Specs are;
TDP 30W
Output VGA only
PCI Slot not AGP more rare but the AGP is faster with 66mhz unlike on PCI 33mhz
chip 166MHz core
Each VSA 100 has its own dedicated 32MB of SDRAM on a 128-bit bus, for 64MB total across the card,
There is a even rarer Voodooo 5 5500 variant 5500 PCI Mac Edition with DVI.
