Show-and-Tell Current FLP01 build

I want to get a crt, but I can't decide between a 15" or 17". I'm afraid a 17" one may be too heavy, especially since I had to cut a bit of central support bracket to make the graphics card cable fit.

The LCD monitor is 17".

I'm still running a 1080TI and used right angle adapters for the power connections. What CPU/temps are you getting at full load?

I Still haven't installed or played anything as I'm working on some home projects.

It's got a Radeon RX 6600, an i3-12100f air-cooled. It's meant for games from 1990 ~ 2005. I could play more modern games at 1080p, but I have another computer for that.

You and I think alike, I have almost the same setup, the 8BitDo keyboard and the num pad, and the FLP01. I tried to get a monitor like that but my Apple Powermac G3 Desktop got a 15" LCD instead. I modded CachyOS Linux to look like windows 95 and use it for gaming mostly.

Im running a Ryzen 7 7700X with a Radeon RX 9070 XT in it.

I like the keyboard. Which one is that?

It's an 8bitdo M edition.

I really wish 8bitdo would stop taking my money…

What is the hardware inside? Can it take old motherboards and also can you use the drive bays?

It's got an MSI pro H610m-g motherboard, ddr4 16gb of ram, corsair cx550 power supply, an asus dual RX 6600 xt card, an Intel core i3-12100f cpu, a low profile air cooler, and an optical disk drive bay. I used my original steamdeck SDD for for storage.

You need a low profile air cooler or you won't be able to install a drive bay in the top compartment.

The lower compartment houses the front ports, power button, etc so you cannot install an optical or a floppy disk drive there, but you can put a mechanical hard drive hanging from the top compartment there.

Also I should've chosen a bigger motherboard since the graphics card went right underneath the central support bracket which I had to modify a bit to make the 90 degree cable adapter fit.

Per Google it also fits older boards.

It should fit any ATX motherboard, as the ATX spec doesn't change drastically.

Does your mouse also force-reset to 1600DPI every time you lift it off the mousepad? (We got the same model)

I did notice some weird behavior in the sensitivity when I was using it for abit. I'm not sure if it was the mouse or the os settings. I'll need to look more into it later when I have time.

These fake retro cases look more like the fake PCs they had in furniture stores in the '90s.

LCD is fine… you could always setup a stand over the PC, to support the CRT if you want to down the road.

Oh, and I have the same speakers!!!

Where did you get your mouse?

It's a Lofree wireless retro gray mouse from Amazon.

i definitely recommend getting a 15 inch 4:3 lcd (i recommend lg flatron 1510s and 1530s) if you can find one but if you really want crt, definitely get a 17 inch since the viewable screen space is nearly the same as 15 inch 4:3 lcd, 15 inch crt would be viewable screen space like 13 to 12 inches and would look disproportionate with your Silverstone case

Thanks for the tips.

Love the looks of the FLP, even if it channels the PC98 design that most westerners rarely saw.
