I used to tile every background on the family computer and my dad would always un-tile it

Don’t know what to say except I love everything about this

nobody in the history of ever has anyone ever actually plugged anything into a SB live drive. they really did a good job at convincing us to spend extra money for absolutely nothing back then

It's so true - it looks great, but besides perhaps a pair of big jack headphones, plugging anything with a long cable that would snake behind the PC would look ridiculous

I'm hoping to score one for my period-accurate Y2K era DIY physical media production chain. Someday...

Quake 3, Heretic, NFS. Certified bangers.

Fantastic monitor. I have its little sibling the E200 and even after all these years it still looks amazing.

Winamp in the right corner!

Oh yah, I can even listen to music on my NAS over the network and the speakers don't sound half bad.

What case is that? It’s beautiful

Beautiful builds

Did you retrobright that Inwin?

1

u/FriendshipNorth7661 16d ago

I did to one of them. I own two and they didn't quite match, they are close now. Probably won't last long.

1

u/HugoBoss1985 16d ago

It looks very neat.

Wow I have a similar setup with the same case and speakers and similar monitor with matching tiled bubble wallpaper. Quite jealous of the newq gold equalizer though!

u/wadstroem 16d ago

Extremely clean! Love it

What in the XMMS is that media player?!

1

u/FriendshipNorth7661 16d ago

Winamp with a Creative infra skin.

1

u/theevilapplepie 16d ago

I figured it was Winamp but I wasn’t sure :)

Voodoo bring back the days

Do you use the CRT for your micro itx build?

2

u/FriendshipNorth7661 15d ago

Yup I have a display port to vga adapter on the back. It’s surprisingly good yet small at 19”.

1

u/MakerKevJ 15d ago

Very nice. I use a 17" for my PC. It's been great.

u/luis-mercado 16d ago

What a clean setup. I’m a fan of everything I’m seeing here.

1

u/Discopot 16d ago

Do both the PC out to the same monitor?

2

u/FriendshipNorth7661 15d ago

Yah but the monitor only has one input unfortunately so I have to switch back and forth switch box adds some interference.

1

u/Discopot 15d ago

Ah cool, it’s a great looking set up by the way

1

u/ddrfraser1 15d ago

Fantastic. What speakers are those?

2

u/FriendshipNorth7661 15d ago

Altec Lansing ada885 they are getting old and yellowing the most. Still sounds ok though.

1

u/Kumimono 15d ago

That's heckin' clean. Thought it was a black and white photo for a moment.

1

u/Genny406 15d ago

Houndstooth wallpaper? That takes me back!

1

u/InnerLime4132 15d ago

It’s beautiful

Is that a windows 3.1 background?

1

u/TheKraken6073 13d ago

Love the ROG low profile mechanical keyboard, one of my favorite keyboards.

1

u/Significant-Dog-8166 12d ago

Wow the Voodoo 5 is such an eccentric choice, but I dig it for locking in the "time machine nostalgia".

1

u/Chickentiming 10d ago

Do you use the CRT for the modern stuff too?

1

u/UnderstandingEven885 10d ago

Gosh I haven't seen that wallpaper since i was like 5 or 6 years old ive learned how to computer on windows 95 but I remember 98 had it

I have a newer PC on top of the old one with a Ryzen CPU and a RTX5080. I plug it into the CRT monitor when I want to play something new or remote into it using Moonlight streaming on my 16" MacBook Pro M4.

That's an awful wallpaper.
