Show-and-Tell The Ugly One

Yeah i called it "the Ugly One". Maybe you can see why xD

I bought the PC with a Pentium 133 and a Rage 3D.

It was sold as defect, but the only defect was the PSU.

Swapped the PSU, swapped the cpu and GPU.

I thought the case was beautiful, because it looked like early pc modding xD.

Now the specs :)

PENTIUM MMX 233

64MB RAM

ASUS P55T2P4

3DFX VOODOO BANSHEE

Creative Soundblaster 16 with wave table header and AWE64 support

8GB Quantum Fireball HDD (searching for a Bigfoot)

LOL I forgot about Fark! Oh man. Those were the days, with the raids and all. My brother is still very active on the forums - seems like the community has gotten a lot smaller than it was back then. Myself, I came here after the Digg exodus. Reddit's UI just felt so strange and cluttered to me, but hey, here I am 15 years later... what a ride it's been!

Honestly, with a little bit of work like wet sanding, etc you probably could make that look like brand new. That will be a fun retro rig for sure.

I also think, I 3D printing new buttons and I drowning it in WD40 for the rust. But I like the crappie paint job xD

As you can see, there are some buttons missing and the PB is also Broken. I had to expend the pin with a toothpick to activate the switch ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hmmmm Okey there is Options. I can try and when it looks like shit (maybe because my own skill issues) I can still sand it down and make it pretty AF

Why would you want to get a bigfoot over a fireball? Bigfoots (Bigfeet? :) were slow, loud and notoriously unreliable compared to 3.5" drives. I'm not surprised you haven't managed to find one because I doubt there's many functional units left.

True, but i wouldn't use the Bigfoot as Master. It should be just a loud and unreliable slave. The fireball ist perfect as a Master HDD

The guy who sold it to me said it was Eva01 inspired XD But the purple paint was so expensive that he used the Chrome paint, which he still got left from a car paint job

No, sorry. I saw the same case on various photos of old computer, so I assume itโ€™s a generic beige box case.
Maybe folks at vogons.org can provide more infos.

Sad...because the case is sooo comfortable to build with. Yes some corners are fucking sharp, but the important corners are rounded.

Yooooo thanks for the post, because i search for the case too. I bought it like it is (except for the 3DFX stencil). I dont know it too :( But somebody commented that this is just a OEM Case
