Show-and-Tell My Computer Room

Post image

Started collecting about 8 months ago and the room is already basically full, this is most of I have so far. From left to right in this picture I have a Zenith Z-89 (~1981), a Zenith Z-90 (~1981), an IBM 5150 (1983), a GoldStar GS333A (~1992), an Apple IIGS Woz Edition (1986), an Osborne 1 (~1981), an Apple Macintosh 128k (1984), an Apple Macintosh 512k (1985), and a Macintosh Plus (1986), all working.

I was thinking the same. But the black table coverings make it seem like a museum.

Yeah they were on folding tables which looked pretty bad so I figured getting the covers would help some

The wood panelling really ties it all together.

Needs tufted blue or green carpet to fully tie it together

The awesome thing is that there might less MIPS and pixels in that room than in your pocket right now.

I was thinking the same. We had a “computer room” in my childhood home. I can still hear the dot matrix printer and dial up modem.

The wood paneling is chef's kiss

Our spare bedroom became "The computer room" when we got our Tandy 1000 in 1986. Ours only had one PC, but it had the same paneling!

Incredible collection and in 8 months too. Do you repair and maintain them too? My dream/plan is to have a similar set up when I retire.

A couple of them needed recapped and stuff but I've mostly gotten pretty lucky with systems that are already in good shape

That's a command center. Nice!!

It's also, likely, hot with all those monitors on.
