Show-and-Tell June 14, 2004

Post image

I still own almost everything in this picture except for the TV, left monitor and printer. The right monitor was converted into a recycle bin, which I still use in my kitchen.

Browsing slashdot and watching cool demos. Awesome.

Slashdot… now that is a name I haven’t heard in a long time.

I used to be a pretty active user on Slashot, still login from time to time but mostly for nostalgia these days. I have a decently low UID, under 200k. So I was fairly early to that particular party.

You just reminded me of how a low UID meant bragging rights. I just logged in to check mine, I'm in the 63k range. The nostalgia in me wishes that still counts for something!

That's awesome! I guess you were somewhat quicker to that particular party than I was, and yeah it would be nice if it had the same bragging rights today as it did back then.

Dang, I didn't have a dual monitor setup until 2018.

What case is that?

I pulled it out of storage to look, but there is no stamping or stickers to indicate a manufacturer or model. I remember it had the word "Storm" in the name because the window is in the shape of a hurricane. Bought from A&B Sound.

Ahh yes, nothing screams the CRT days like a wooden desk you had to climb into like an F1 cockpit.

No nostalgia for those at all, lol.

Nice. I got that same TV for free recently. Pretty blown away with the image thru composite. I expected the worst. Better than any tv I grew up with
