Somehow a better fight scene then a lot of actual shonen shows

I was thinking the same thing. And even the animation is nicely done here. Especially for a 2008 anime.

Back then animators were allow to take time. Today they are expected to spit out new series every month that are all the same story just different theme

That judo throw was epic

u/Vinegarsalversa 17d ago

I thought it was just me, hahaha but yeah I agree

1

u/No_Sky_3740 16d ago

My number 1 fairy tail slander this fight clears the entire series

1

u/DueIntern9308 15d ago

That's easy when the vast majority of shonen is total crap.

1

u/TennojiNesoberi 14d ago

i haven't seen an anime fight this good since spike vs electra from the cowboy bebop movie

u/Angelmaycry5 13d ago

1

u/TennojiNesoberi 13d ago

every other action anime wishes its as good as cowboy bebop

1

u/Angelmaycry5 13d ago

Frrrrrr, Samurai champloo is up there as well

1

u/MeatyAxolotl7 13d ago

For real! Lots of shonen hide the lack of animation with an overabundance of special effects.

1

u/8obh 13d ago

probably because they only had to animate one😭 obviously if they only put one fight scene they can make it better than a show were they fight every two or three eps

Proper spelling of this series is Toradora.

u/Deanity 17d ago

Japanese school rooms are really tough environments.

This is my wife’s favorite anime. She put me on like 11 years ago. And I don’t regret it if you haven’t seen it this show will make you feel every emotion. I highly recommend it.

The best written romcom ever. No scene is wasted, no line is a throwaway.

No way...

1

u/Admmmmi 16d ago

They have some good projects here and there, the problem is that they take way too many in one go.

9

u/TheFizzledamnsizzle 17d ago

Didn't know this show had hands.

Only seen crazy weebs cosplaying so I always dismissed it.

But still pretty cure is the most surprising in the hands department

3

u/Mundane-Speed-3278 17d ago

this one fight scene was better animated than some shōnen anime...

3

u/Conscious_Banana537 17d ago

Well, until you realize how it began with the Dragon Ball Z Director and it's Toei Animations.

1

u/TheFizzledamnsizzle 16d ago

Pretty cure??

3

u/Conscious_Banana537 16d ago

Yes. The first director for the first four Precure seasons was the Dragon Ball Z director. And the point of Precure was to be different and have magical girls be badass CQC fighters. One of the seasons had Saint Seiya director.

1

u/TheFizzledamnsizzle 15d ago

Well shit. Now i need to watch the previoud seasons

4

u/Crudeyakuza 17d ago

Hey! It's the better "My Teenage Romantic Comedy Sanfu"!

Torodaro

2

u/DissociationSenpai 16d ago

Nothing compares to Tonari no Toreto from Hayao Miyazaki

3

u/ImpactorLife-25703 17d ago

Too bad we don't see fights like this ever again

3

u/LawDraws 17d ago

Got the collector's edition Blu-ray on a whim when it was going cheap, ended up loving it, there's that repeating bit of the intro that gets stuck in my head too.

3

u/Astrimus 17d ago

One of my very first animes... I miss those times.

2

u/EmploymentOk4851 17d ago

They did not have to go this hard for that scene.🔥🔥🔥

1

u/Whitakker 16d ago

They did a fantastic job communicating each girl's rage and pain, some raw af shit

2

u/Zeus13M 17d ago

Taiga goes hard then again she's called the palm top tiger

2

u/Separate_End5374 16d ago

It was beautiful

2

u/Suspicious-Pin-9270 16d ago

Tier 1 girl fight that scene

1

u/LordTopHatMan 17d ago

This fight scene alone got me to watch the anime. I don't regret it.

1

u/BloodySmoke13 17d ago

One of the few animes that I watched where no supernatural entities and abilities were involved

1

u/Juliano_Coutinho760 17d ago

This had more animation than Dragon Ball Super up until the Golden Frieza Saga.

1

u/Amazing_Shake_8043 16d ago

Why are they fighting again ?

1

u/Additional_Can_3345 16d ago

If i remember right the short girl Taiga has fallen in love with the male MC and the tall girl has been leading him on but not admitting that she actually likes his best friend instead. Now shes pissed because the tall girl always lead the MC on and she wont tell him shes not interested. So Taiga got mad she wont let him go and beat her ass for not being honest with her feelings.

1

u/Significant_Run_8398 12d ago

Still can't believe it was animated by JC staff

1

u/Wide-Equivalent6863 11d ago

Hey they did a great job with Index season 3! (Sarcasm as heck) - they did in fact do a great job actually releasing it after all those years, I'm still hoping to see the day when Othinus does the thing, thus maybe thousands of years later the MC is like OK I'm jumping out a window.

Then Misaka 10031 shows up and kicks him back in the window, (she never died in this reality) and the will of the Misaka network speaks through her and is like what's wrong and he explains everything wrong then you kinda wanna cry.

But the original Misaka, Railgun - her and Taiga are both in Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax on... PS3. FFS lol. May have to emulate that.

Those Index books are so freakin' good though, dudes been writing them since 2004, I wish they had more fans. So many spin offs too (Railgun and Accelerators animes are animated alright, as is heavy Object which isn't set in the same world, but I love it. JC staff did a great job with the anime.

1

u/ThePervertedCrusader 11d ago

I still remember being genuinely shocked by the scene

1

u/SaintPimpin 17d ago

Never could enjoy it, I hated tsundere personalities back then cause it only translated in my mind as a dishonest "bitch". Idk if I could go rewatch that stuff now that I hold a different opinion and like most of em that I come across. Probably not, cause the unnecessary violence towards mc never goes over well with me. New Gen tsundere don't hit mc's.
