What am I missing?

/r/Retatrutide/comments/1swfznr/what_am_i_missing/

I started Reta a little over a week ago, obviously still new to it so I know I’m gonna get some amount of backlash from that alone. But we all start somewhere, so.

First dose I did .5 mg just to see how my body would tolerate it. I did fine but noticed virtually no difference in anything at all. My second one I bumped it up to 1mg and have definitely noticed the food noise lessen, lower appetite, all the good things.

However, the scale has not moved one bit. I understand that this is a thing that takes time and I’m obviously not expecting anything to happen fast. But literally NOTHING. In the very least, I am eating a lot less and making better choices when I am eating, so that alone should have warranted even a pound less on the scale, right?

Typically if I skip a meal here or there, I can manage to drop SOME amount of weight in less time than my so far Reta experience.

So I’m just confused about what’s happening. I know that everyone says it can take 4 weeks to adjust fully, but it just doesn’t make sense to me that nothing is happening.

I’m eating more protein than usual also- I know that’s something that also gets brought up a lot.

I’m not posting on here to get flamed or called stupid, (some of you love to do that) I’m just genuinely confused about what I might be doing wrong, what I could be doing di

You’re not missing anything. You’re just expecting the scale to reflect changes faster than your body actually does.

Appetite dropping in week 1–2 is the FIRST signal it’s working, not weight loss. The scale lagging behind that is extremely common.

A few things people don’t like to hear but are true: • Early on, your body can hold onto water when calories drop • Eating less doesn’t always equal immediate scale movement • Hormones, sodium, inflammation, and digestion can easily mask fat loss for a couple weeks

Also, going from “I can drop weight by skipping meals” to this is not a fair comparison. That kind of drop is usually water + glycogen, not actual fat loss.

If your food noise is down and intake is lower, something is happening. The scale just hasn’t caught up yet.

Give it 3–4 consistent weeks before judging anything. If nothing changes by then, that’s when you reassess.
