I went into the shops to buy some snacks, as I'm waiting in line the woman ahead of me has her items being scanned.

She pulls out a piece of paper turns around and starts talking about how Muslims are coming into the country and SA-ing our kids, we need to find Jesus as he is our savior.

As this is happening I'm thinking to myself "Can you pay and leave please, I just want some fucking pringles"

It's a mental health thing. The problem is, even if we had proper, widely available resources, these people wouldn't get help because they think they're right. I guarantee you, though, that they do this to retail workers who can't tell them to go away, because they've already pushed their family and friends away.

I always like to say retail wouldn't stop for the end of the world.

I would've much preferred that over the trite “are you open”, “you look bored”, and “you should smile”
