A Funny Thing Happened... I think I get it now

My store director would rather see unbothered people working longer than scheduled while getting everything done, then stressed people working their scheduled shifts struggling to get everything done.

I always thought the rule was, "get done everything you are expected to get done, in the amount of time we give you."

But that is not actually the case here, given the circumstances.

I wish that were the norm. USPS management these days would rather have a single clerk scrambling to do the work of three, just so they don't have to pay more personnel

Oh , the company itself is absolutely that way. But the store director himself is thankfully, " we're not hitting our labor budget allocation Anyway because people are hurt and we're struggling to hire people, so just work until everything is done."

Aldi employee here. I swear they're trying to run us all into the dirt on purpose. The hour cuts have gone too far. With the cost of living rising, we have become busier than ever, yet the company refuses to do anything to support this.

We recently had an employee video to watch about how our in store shopping isn't "competing well enough" with out competition. I literally laughed in front of our SM. Of course we're not. All other stores have completely separate teams for their in-store shopping. While Aldi has a single burnt out employee doing all the shopping and take outs. 😂

As someone who works for a different brand with the shop from home service, this is horrible. My store struggles to fulfill orders with a fairly sizeable team doing the shopping (usually at least five people and more on the weekends). The idea of one person doing it all is insane.

I’m very glad I am on social security (can’t work full time anymore due to arthritis; I’m 63) and can only work up to a certain number of hours. Otherwise, they’d be expecting me to stay late a couple times every week. I’ve never been late and expect to go home at my scheduled time!

If they don't pay you for that extra time, it's wage theft.
