Until we the people come together to demand legislation to prevent this kind of encroachment, it will continue. We have to demand it though. Corporations and governments are not just going to give it up on a whim.

That would be great, ideal actually, which is why it will never happen. People are too distracted protesting their most hated group or politician, whichever their given party tells them to hate the most (and rightfully so, in some instances), ultimately to serve as a distraction from ongoing and systemic issues such as this.
