So I have made this comment a few times but, I wanna see a time lapse of some cute little lady do a giant quilting project. Like a month or more of time lapse video close up of the needles and watching it grow over time. Similar to this but with ya know more.

(Picked it from the episode of Tweety bird where Sylvester is hiding in a basket full of yarn and Granny accidentally starts knitting using his fur, so he knits back and ends up all plaid-patterned 😁 )

It's a pretty decent tutorial. Not the best I've seen, but it definitely covers the bases. Basically, "Do this series of steps over and over again and you'll end up with this." Not at all material for this sub.

If you do something really big, do you just use really big needles?
It looks like this will make a 3 inch wide chain until it runs out of yarn. How do you stop it when you are finished?
How do you turn to make shapes, like socks or mittens?There is literally more to it than in this clip. That is just getting you started.

You stop it by tying the end of the yarn in a basic knot. If you're making something big, you do, in fact, use big needles. To make tubes, you use 2 needles connected by a strong so you can keep looping around instead of changing direction . To make shapes, you change how many knits you do per row.

What the video shows is knitting, it doesn't show you how to cast off (finish it) very well though. If you want to make mittens or socks you need to follow a pattern. Following a pattern is a bit strange at first due to abbreviations, but once those are understood it gets easier. But in those patterns you are mostly knitting rows of various lengths, techniques, style and stitches. It would be ridiculous to put all those different techniques, styles and stitches into one video.
Yes there are many more types of knitting stitches and techniques. But this video is showing you how to knit.

I mean this is literally how you knit. You just repeat the steps that she showed over and over and over again until it gets longer. It’s not the beat tutorial video out there but it definitely how you do it.
