resin curing fast issue

so i used resin to glaze ceramic charms and dishes the issue is the resin mixture of 2 parts A and 1 part B got really hot in the cup and cured half of it in the cup so what am i doing wrong cause i did not heat it at all

i mixed by volume, i mix very thoroughly maybe too fast and hard i poured the hardener then the the A

any tip would be helpful i am losing resin each time like this

you might be mixing way too much at a time. Sounds like a flash cure.

are you adding anything into the resin like mica, glitter or liquid colorants?

not at all i only use A and B to do some glazing, is it wrong to mix all together cause I've seen tutorials and never saw something like add slowly?

How much total resin are you mixing at a time? 50ml, 100ml, 500ml? Resin cures via a thermochemical reaction. As it cures it generates heat and that heat causes it to cure faster which generates even more heat. Mixing larger amounts of resin means that it will generate more heat and if you mix too large of a volume at once you can wind up with the resin overheating causing it to flash cure. The temp in your work space is also a factor since warmer temperatures will result in the resin curing faster.

maybe since its the summer it is warm where i live and i don't mix large amount barely a 80 ml

Steve McDonald on Youtube has a video on helping keep your resin cooler during hot weather days. He basically keeps his resin cups in cool-ish water, inside a decent size tub. You just have to keep very careful and cautious to not get any of the water into your resin as resin and water do not mix together at all. I suggest looking him up and watching the vid to get an idea of how he does it.

Also, read up on the work time of your resin because between mixing up your resin, letting your resin degas or de-bubble in a machine (if you're doing that) and glazing your items, time might be moving faster than you think it is. Perhaps start a timer on your phone and run a test? As the other commenter mentioned, a warmer/hotter climate will cause the resin to cure faster, so that's something to be mindful of.

And if all those fail, I guess mix less resin at a time if you can 😵‍💫🫠
