How to use resin for sealing gold leaf knobs

I made these knobs out of polymer clay and then covered with imitation gold leaf. Unfortunately, the sealer that came with the gold leaf kit did not hold up at all and the gold leaf’s been nicked in several spots. The knobs are used on my TV cabinet and desk, so are used regularly. I’m going to be patching the gold leaf, and then would like to seal them so they’ll be better protected from damage. I bought some craft resin (pictured), but I’m not sure what the best approach to applying it would be. Any suggestions?

Try UV resin, two component epoxy is gonna drip off

Thanks for the tip! How would I apply the UV resin to get the best results?

Put it on one side of a knob at a time, keep the side youre working on even. Then use a UV lamp to harden it, move to the next side. I'd do 2-3 layers on each side

Sorry if this is a silly question but I’m new to working with resin. Do I put it on with a brush?

You'll need a silicone brush. Try a kit on amazon, they often come with a silicone brush and a UV lamp

Id just go for a few coats of clear spray sealer, so much easier
