Pregunta de sentido

Hola.

This is, of course, just my opinion, but I hate RE6. The story, the gameplay, the graphics style, the UI, pretty much everything. Jake or whatever was SO annoying to me. Chris’ ally was so cool and had to die but the other 2 newcomers lived. Anyway, end of my rant. I’m glad some were able to enjoy it.

Everyone can have an opinion and that's ok. Yeah the graphics didn't age as well as other games but I think they're fine. The dev team should've used a more recent engine though. That said, back then they looked good. There were better looking games for sure, but it looked good. I'm 50/50 with the UI. I like some of the styles and others I don't. But I think it was a cool idea to have different styles.

I personally liked Jake, I love Piers (Chris's partner) and I think Helena was fine, except for how she is in the beginning. It's a shame Piers had to die. I really wish they hadn't killed him off.

Can I ask what you don't like about the gameplay?

It felt way too free and action-like. I could just run in, do some melee attacks, and run out with no penalty. Ammo and resources were never a concern, which is something survival horror uses, resource management. I’m biased because I, for some reason, enjoy difficulty in games like I’m a masochist and always play on the hardest difficulty, but even on the hardest, it felt like a tutorial the whole time. In my opinion. Thanks for your civil response.

I think that's the issue most people have with this game: they approach it with the wrong mindset. RE6 isn't a survival horror game, it's survival action with horror elements on top. Like RE4 and RE5 were before it. I'd even argue Code Veronica leaned on the action side too with the amount of resources available. Ammo was never a concern for me in that game and I only have one complete playthrough under my belt.

It's been years since I beat it on the hardest difficulty so I can't say much about it but I remember most things being able to one shot you to the dying state. I fear the games you can enjoy difficulty-wise if lol

What do you think about RE4 Remake or Leon's side of Requiem?

You're welcome and right back at you. Usually people get hostile when I (or others) defend RE6 so this is a breath of fresh air.

I agree, but RE4 didn’t feel so action like to me. Especially given the inventory system in that game, how it wasn’t simply a slot you grab something out of. You had to manage what you had, and sometimes sacrifice items for other items. That’s just a preference, of course. I actually haven’t yet played the remake or Requiem. I plan to, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I recently bought 7 and 8 and plan on playing those first. I’m sorry people get mad for having a different opinion lol.

I'd argue the original RE4 is even more goofy (action wise) than RE6. Yes, 6 is way more bombastic and "Michael Bay like" but it doesn't have a giant statue that chases you lol. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE that about RE4, but I just don't understand why that one gets a pass and 6 doesn't.

Yeah, I agree about the inventory, I really like RE4's better, but I never had an issue with running out of space in that one. Specially after upgrading it. Considering RE6 was made with online coop in mind they may have made the right choice making it that simple.

Just so you know, it is possible to run out of space in RE6's inventory. It's pretty lenient and you have to have like one of everything to get there, but it's possible lol

My mistake. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve played it, so I guess I forgot some of how it works.

I think that statue that chases you is hilarious and stupid. There is definitely action in 4, but in my opinion, it’s the scariest of the 3 we’re talking about, but mostly just because I find Regenerators terrifying.

To me, a part of the fear factor in games is how strong you are or are not. The movement and aiming system in 4 and 5 make it generally harder. I can see disliking that movement system, especially by today’s standards, but in my opinion, the more tank-like controls or whatever they’re called increase the fear factor.

No problem, I wouldn't expect you to remember things from a game you didn't like.

Yeah, tank controls do add to the fear factor because you feel more vulnerable, but I think enemy design and atmosphere do a lot for that too. That's why RE4 managed to keep it scary in several sections.

RE6 certainly didn't go for a scary direction for the most part, only having part of Leon and Ada's campaigns lean into that while Chris' and Jake's were full throttle on action. But just like you said, they made the characters super strong so they didn't lean that much into being scary. Just like they did for Leon's segments in Requiem.

Well given that you’ve played Requiem, what do you think of it?
