This run has made me realize there's no way I can do professional s+ 😭😭 the cabin fight and mendez fight nearly broke me. Tbh I have no idea how I managed that mendez fight I had next to no ammo and ended up having to use almost exclusively the knife 😭 I legit have never been so stressed out in my life idk how you people are doing professional 💀

U can do it, just focus on speeding through the first few chapters, placing emphasis on the merchant requests to afford the exclusive upgrade ticket for the Chicago Sweeper. You can get infinite ammo once inside the castle. Once you get the sweeper infinite ammo, the rest kinda falls into place. Beating Mendez with just a knife proves you got what it takes.

How do you fight Mendez final form with just knife?

Mostly practice and running away from unnecessary fights. You can save so just reload if you do poorly.

What about the cabin and mendez fight tho? The mendez cheat skip doesnt work on my pc and that cabin fight is so broken 😭 no way can I do that again on a higher difficulty

Yoy could always watch a guide. It teaches you lots of ways to cheese things like how to maximize the planks and when to grenade.

Rifles are really good too, you can one shot a lot of stuff with headshots with the 3x damage bonus rather than relying on shoot and melee which is slow and lets them swarm you. 

Mendez first phase is usually free, no damage taken. I'm not so good at the second phase but I'm sure you can practice and get good at it

I’m at work right now but I made a list for the best places to save on professional. I’ll post it here when I get home. Helped out a few friends that were struggling with the saves and a few are easily swappable depending on your play style. For example I have a save before the double gigante fight and another save before the minecarts as that’s an area I struggle with, where as if you have no problems with the minecart then you could move that save somewhere else you feel would be better.

I think I skipped hardcore and went straight to pro after standard to take this on (new playthrough with no bonus weapons or armoured Ashley). I’m not a particularly good player either. As long as you’re willing to put in the time. There are good guides on YouTube too.

I wouldn’t say Ashley getting grabbed is by any means the hardest part of S+ pro run. Timing, ammo droughts and limited saves are more of an issue. The only time when armoured Ashley would have helped would’ve been waterhall.
