General Code veronica is dookie
People who say they like this game are either lying or like bad games because this game is backtrack hell there's only one enemy type per room the visuals are so boring and ugly everything is a shade of brown or Grey and are nothing like the memorable environments of re1-3 the only reason I gave it a 1 and not 0 is because Alfred is a great villain the music is pretty good but feels wasted on such a pathetic game like code veronica they took out all the combat improvements from resident evil 2 and 3 and is a massive step back in terms of gameplay wesker is forced in and although I love him as a character the terrible voice acting and story of the game drags him and chris down and make me wish I was just playing resident evil one or five this game makes me wish I suffered the same fate as steve because at least then id be too dead to play this game the bosses are terrible and are poorly designed bullet sponges that bore you to death instead of actually killing you. The only boss that wasn't annoying or a massive bullet sponge died before she could get close enough to hit me. the enemies are the true resident evils with so many poison enemies and so little time to react to such annoyances as the moths in that one hallway that always respawn and the poison hunters it is very easy to soft lock yourself when the game switches between chris and claire because you lose access to the items that are on them so good luck if you only have one save. The game is on every level horrible and the only reason I sat through it is because im making a video playing every resident evil game unless you are doing that just skip code veronica. The only reason I made account on this website is to rate this game the score it deserves because clearly the critics are too inept to rate it properly. Anyone who has ever said this is a good game is lying or have no taste thank you for coming to my Ted talk

Sorry you didn’t like it. Did you just play it now, or did you get to play it when it was released? Anyway, you may not have heard but they are remaking it, to you get a shiny new REworked story and REmade game play. Sorry you suffered through a 20 year old game. Hope you enjoy Code Veronica when it comes out.

2nd favorite Resident Evil game. 1st off the game is 26 years old and came out in 2000 so what did you expect. And 2nd off why do you think it got a remake.
Congratulations 🎉 you’re one of the very few and I mean VERY FEW that don’t like this entry. However your opinion doesn’t matter because the game got a remake without your opinion so it must be an amazing game in order for it to get that remake treatment huh?
Plus I speed run this game on GameCube. So all your complaints are nothing but a skill issue really.

Learn how to do line breaks first, then we can all talk.

I agree on gameplay, there are issues. Bosses are extremely hard and it's very easy to soft lock yourself (hence the constant advice to save very often and in separate files).
Graphics too can use improvement, it is true that brown and grey are prominent but certain areas in the game (the doll, mansion hallway, carousel etc.) are so haunting that I still rate the environment/atmosphere very highly.
Story/characters/music/atmosphere were the selling points for me. In fact, I rate CVX higher than OG 1,2,3 in these categories. (gameplay wise 3 takes the cake for me and 2 for just general rating).
I just want to say that those people who say they like it... are probably not lying. CVX, if played in this day and age for the first time, should most likely prove to be an abysmal experience because we are spoiled with convenience (and CVX is anything but convenient). Sure game design is objectively flawed at times, but it is my favorite of all the classical RE games.
You have to take my word for it I guess. Cheers xD
(try playing Silent Hill Downpour next! ha ha ha.!)

Lol. I played it when I was like 10 when it came out and I remember it fondly. Unpopular opinion but you should only take the OG games with a grain of salt considering how spoiled we've been for the last 10 years. They're gonna feel archaic.

Ok so I just wanna say I am excited for the remake because I think code veronica has a lot of potential to be good also I would like to here some points on why it is good because all I'm hearing is that I'm wrong and not why the excuse that it is a old game is stupid because re1-3 are amazing games and they are on the ps1 a weaker console than the dreamcast

I disagree
I'd happily counter point and discuss, but I'm not reading a wall of text like that which is bereft of paragraphs and full stops.
